“God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” (Numbers 23:19 NIV)
When will Believers start believing? How can you claim to be a believer if you don’t believe what Jesus said?
We Have Been Given Power and Authority
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore” (Matt. 28:18-19a KJV)
“These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18 NAS95)
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.
Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” (John 14:12-14 ESV)
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)
We are to tread Satan and all his cohorts under our feet.
We are to do greater things than Jesus did.
All things must bow the knee to the name of Jesus.
“Therefore, God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Phil. 2:9-11 KJV)
Don't Sit Idly By
But we Believers sit idly by and refuse to use our authority and power. Why? Because while we claim to be believers, we do not believe.
One believer drew a blood line in Jesus’ blood around her home. Evildoers could not cross that blood line to set fire to her house.
Another believer was in a bank when thieves broke in and began shooting all the people. She immediately began to say out loud, “I plead the blood of Jesus.” The shooter stopped in front of her and said, “I can’t shoot you,” and then shot the person next to her.
Flood waters were not allowed to come onto the block where another believer lived, and others said they saw a hand holding back the flood waters.
The stories go on and on of people who actually believed that what God said was true.
Why don’t more believers rise up and believe? All too many hear these accounts and ask, “Do you really think that happened?” All too many believers are unbelievers and have no testimony to share about the grace of God.
Use the Authority Jesus Has Given You
Believers should believe it when Jesus said he gave us authority. Believers should believe what Peter believed when he declared that it was by and in the name of Jesus the lame man was healed.
Believers should lay down blood lines around their property and the property of their loved ones. They should command the fire to stop and not come on their property. They should command the flood to go around them. They should tell the tornado to pass over their property.
Then when their friends and neighbors start to ask for an explanation what a tremendous opportunity to tell them about the grace of God.
Is there a difference between Christians and the world? Only if Christians will rise up and use their power and authority in Jesus’ name.
