An Angel Named Breakthrough Comes to America

In Acts 10 and 11, it says the Holy Spirit fell. Two of the definitions of that word are to embrace with affection. Doesn’t that sound nice? Another definition is to seize more or less violently. Holy Spirit, I don’t care how You come. I just want You to come.
I want to see what it says in Luke 24, to wait in Jerusalem until you’re endued with power from on high. Lord, we have to have Your power. And you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. Acts 1:8. Lord, You know the cry of my heart. It’s 1 Samuel 10:6, that we would see change and transformation. When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will be changed into a different person. Holy Spirit, I invite You to come. And I ask that You would empower me tonight. And empower Carolyn.
That we would release an impartation of Your gifts. Tonight’s going to be about impartation. I really do believe that there’s been some change and transformation in many of your lives. And it’s not over. But as Carol said this morning, it’s got to be unto something.
I don’t know how much I’m going to speak. I’ve got some things I really would like to say. If I happen to go to 9 o’clock, parents, you know you need to go get your kids at 9 o’clock. You don’t need me to tell you. And we would invite you to bring your kids back in. We would love to pray for kids tonight. And if I’m going at 9, we can stop and do that prayer. That’s fine. That’s okay.
But I believe that many of you are going to catch something tonight. The anointing is more often caught than taught. Now, to set some things up, I need to tell you that in Psalm 145:4, it says that one generation shall praise Your works to another. In Psalm 119:111, it says, Your testimonies I have taken as an inheritance forever. Ever.
It’s important that we know the history. It’s important that we know the stories of what God is doing. It’s important that we share the power of the testimony. The power of the testimony. Revelation 19:10 is so important. And all throughout the Jewish history, they knew to tell the stories of what God had done. To pass it on from generation to generation. To write it. To post it on the doorpost. I mean, you see this over and over. And you see the word over and over. Remember. Remember. And the Jewish people didn’t. And we’ve fallen into the same trap. It says in Psalm 78:9, they forgot His works. They limited the Holy One. In Nehemiah 9:17, it says they refused to obey. They were not mindful of His wonders. And in Lamentations 1:9, it says she, meaning Israel, did not consider her destiny and her collapse was awesome. And it doesn’t mean awesome in a good way. We’ve done the same thing.
Doesn’t like that, does it? It’s an anointing. It’s why I really do better with a lapel mic, not holding the mic. But, and you ought to see me with a cord. It’s even worse. Impartation. Look at Hebrews chapter 6. Starting in verse 1.
I’m going to go very quickly over some of these things. This one I may have you turn to. The others, I’m not. But you might want to make note of them if you just need to know something about this. Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles. In other words, this is the basics. This is the starting point. The elementary principles of Christ. Let us go on to perfection. Not laying again the foundations of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, and of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of the resurrection of the dead, and of the eternal judgments. In other words, let’s don’t go back to what we already know. The very basic things. Let’s move on from there. And laying on of hands was one. No, I can’t use that one. Yeah, I’ve already tried. Thank you. Appreciate it.
In Romans 1:11, it says… Paul is talking to the Romans. And he says, “That I may impart to you some spiritual gift.” Now, this is starting to really get into my spirit a little bit. Because about a month ago, I was awakened. Just almost violently. Turned over in my bed. Looked at the clock. Said 1:11. The next night, I’m awakened again. I turn over. I look at the clock. 1:11. Now, I’m dense. But I’m not that dense. So, I said, “God, are You speaking to me?” And for three out of five nights, I woke up. I believe I would have awakened the third night in a row. But I actually was awakened. I think it was an attack of the enemy. I was in pain at 12:45. And so, I was awake when 1:11 came. But three out of five nights, I awoke and I looked at that clock and it said 1:11. And the only scripture that I knew by heart that was 1:11 is Romans 1:11. And that has been the cry of my heart. Now, I’m still trying to work it through, you know, are there other scriptures? I mean, we talked about… Jamie and I were talking about a scripture in Joshua 1:11 where it talks about a crossing and taking possession of the land.
So, it’s kind of like maybe it’s both, that I would take possession of that. I’ve been asking God for a greater impartation. I want more gifts. I want stronger gifts than what I’m moving in. I’m not moving in enough. I’m not seeing as many people get healed as I want. I go after the deaf. I go after the deaf every time I can. And we’ve gotten one healed. And we’ve got a bunch of the rest of you who have not yet been healed. And I don’t know why, but that’s not going to stop me. I’ve got to have more. I don’t want things to stop me like a cast and a broken arm. So, today, we got to pray for Vivian out there on the pier. And she’s still wearing it, but she has no pain. She had full mobility. We took the whole cast off. She’s doing great. Right, Vivian? That’s right.
For those of you who don’t know, she fell when you were… the day you were coming here, Monday, you fell like in a store, and she broke her arm. That’s why she’s wearing that cast. And that’s why she’s bunged up a little bit, hit her knees and everything. But I’m telling you, after prayer, it was great out there on the pier. I walked to the pier. And then I was here. Right? When I got here, I… Yeah. Thank you. Wow. Wow.
I got to be honest with you. When you were walking out on the pier and the four of us and Mason was out there on the pier, one of us commented… Okay, it was me. Man, I mean, she was kind of wobbling, you know, because I was afraid, because that pier’s not very wide. Anyway, I digress. I believe 111… Ooh, is on, is on, is on. You do understand that this is a principle. This is a biblical principle. In Numbers 11, God speaks to Moses and said, “I’m going to take some of the Spirit that’s on you. You’re all worn out and tired. I’m going to take some of the Spirit that’s on you and put it on the 70 elders.” There’s a biblical principle right there. There’s a biblical principle when Elijah says to Elisha, “You can have what you ask,” and he asks for a double portion. And, “If you see me when I’m taken up, you can have it.” The mantle falls on him, and he literally gets a double portion of the anointing. It is a biblical principle. And most times we stand on and hold on to 1 Timothy 4:14 and 2 Timothy 1:6. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of hands.
2 Timothy 1:6. Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. I want to give you a little bit of a history, and then I want to talk to you about the impartation of the gifts and what God is doing in this time. And that’s why I started with those scriptures, that it’s important for us to know the testimony, to take it as an inheritance, but we’ve forgotten. And here’s what’s happened in the church. When we don’t experience much, we don’t expect much. When we don’t expect much, we don’t experience much. When we don’t experience much, we don’t expect much. When we don’t expect much, we don’t experience much. And it’s been a downward spiral. That’s why it’s so important to tell the testimonies. I know in our church, we’ve really tried to go on the process of every time we have a staff meeting, every time we get together, the first thing we ask is, “Who’s got a testimony? What’s happening? Financial breakthrough. Who’s getting a job? Who’s gotten healed? Who got delivered? What are the people doing out in the marketplace? What’s the latest testimony from Starbucks?” We want to hear the spoils of war.
So, I was a history major in college, so I love the history of revival. You do recognize that you can trace your heritage. I mean, if you could, if you had somebody who really knew what they were doing, you could trace your heritage all the way back to Jesus and then beyond because it’s in the Bible. That heritage line is in the Bible. We’re not going to do that. Don’t worry about it. Okay. But you can trace it back. Let’s just go 100 years. Is that okay? 100 years to see where all this stuff has led. 100 years ago, in the early 1900s, there was a man named John G. Lake. How many have never heard of John G. Lake? Okay. Quite a few of you. It’s a good history lesson. John G. Lake was a businessman in the early 1900s. He actually was a quite successful businessman. He had, unfortunately, a very sickly family. He took him to… they took the family, particularly his wife, who was an invalid, took her to meetings in Zion. John Alexander Dowie, who was a healing evangelist, who admittedly got off on the wrong track theologically at the end of his life. But he had a very powerful healing ministry. She was miraculously healed as well as many of his kids.
He believed that God had a call on his life. He said, “I’m going to give up my fortune. I’m going to give up my business. I’m called to God. And I believe that I’m supposed to go to Africa and evangelize the heathen.” So he went to Africa and he began preaching the gospel with absolutely no success. Nobody came to his meetings. But this isn’t the horse and buggy day. This is the dirt roads. There’s a horse going down the road. Horse steps in the hole, falls, breaks its leg. And you know what they do when they break the leg? Well, go get that gun. We’re going to have to put him down. So somebody goes and gets the gun. But meanwhile, the Lord speaks to John G. Lake and says, “Lay hands on the horse.” He goes and lays hands on the horse. The horse begins shaking. This is all documented. The horse begins shaking, gets up, healed, and runs off. That night, his meeting was full. John G. Lake had one of the most successful ministries that’s ever been. Ever. He just established hundreds of hundreds of hundreds of churches in Africa. He came back prior to 1915 and established the healing rooms in Spokane, Washington. From 1915 to 1920, the U.S. government documented more than 100,000 miraculous healings and said it was the healthiest city in the United States.
And then the religious leaders ran him out of town. So he established the healing rooms in Portland. In 1999, the healing rooms were reopened. The exact same rooms in the Rookery Building in downtown Spokane. Since then, unfortunately, that building has been sold and torn down to make, you know, better real estate investment kind of things. But the healing rooms… How many of you know about the healing rooms? Okay, not everybody. There are healing rooms all over the country and being spread in different parts of the world. In fact, we just… We encountered this couple and they’ve gone to Osaka, Kobe, Japan. In that area. And are establishing healing rooms in Japan. In the healing rooms, you go and you have an appointment. And you go and you just get prayed for. And they have just incredible miracles happening. So that was John G. Lake. The important point is that he established hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of churches in Africa that thrived and established the gospel and really moved on that nation, that continent. It was a very important factor in the establishment of the gospel in Africa. Fast forward a number of years. There’s a… In one of those exact same churches that he established, there’s a young boy, he’s a 12-year-old boy, and he is in a prayer meeting.
And he is crying out to God. He’s desperate for a move of God on his life. And he says, “God, if You don’t come down and touch me, I’m going to come up there and touch You.” Desperation. Well, the power of God fell on that young boy. And for the next three days, he alternated between weeping and laughing. Weeping. Weeping and laughing. They thought he was crazy. They thought he had lost his mind. That young boy grew up to be an evangelist in South Africa. His name was Rodney Howard Brown. How many of you have never heard of Rodney Howard Brown? Okay. There’s more of you who have, probably because he was really known in Lakeland, Florida. He had an incredible ministry at Carpenter’s Home Church. Yeah. He came to the United States believing that he was called to be an evangelist. He came to the United States in the late 80s. And in 1987 or 89, don’t remember exactly which, I think it was 87, in upstate New York, as he’s doing a typical regular Sunday morning service, he’s preaching, he’s not telling jokes, he’s doing what he always does. The power of God fell and people began falling out of the pews, rolling on the floor. Holy rollers, that’s where that comes from, literally.
Holy rollers rolling on the floor. The power of God was so strong and they were laughing. And he began speaking that word all over the country and became literally known as the healing, the laughing revivalist. A powerful ministry that was literally birthed right out of South Africa in the same church, one of the same churches, that John G. Lake had established. There was a direct connection. There was a DNA that had been established there. Fast forward another few years. There’s a pastor in St. Louis. He’s a Vineyard pastor. He’d been a Baptist pastor for years. But he always was interested in healing. And in 1984, he received a flyer from the Vineyard. And it said, “We have teams, we have people come to conferences, blah, for the impartation of the gifts.” And he literally called them up and said, “Do you mean that you can send a team to my church and the gifts of the Spirit that are described in 1 Corinthians chapter 12 can actually be imparted to our people and we can move in healing and discerning of spirits and prophecy and words of knowledge and those things?” And they said, “Yes, that is absolutely true.” He got interested in healing. And in fact, he went to a conference in 1984 while he was still a Baptist pastor and met John Wimber.
John Wimber was the founder of the Vineyard out in California. John Wimber saw him. And the first thing he did was he went and prayed for him. And he prophesied over him and said, “You… I lost the prophecy. You’re a… Thank you. You’re a prince in the kingdom of God. And you will have a translocal fire of revival that’ll go around the nations.” Something to that effect.
He had asked… All he wanted was John Wimber to pray for his elders. In fact, he said, “I’m really not worthy for you to pray for me.” Anyway, he left the Baptist church, established a Vineyard, went to St. Louis, and for eight years, built the church. Started out with 11 people. After 11 months, almost killed him. The church had originally been founded in signs, wonders, and miracles. He had moved powerfully, even as a Baptist minister. Because when the Vineyard left, there was an impartation that came upon him. And he moved powerfully. In words of knowledge, people were getting healed. Devils were being cast out. People were being touched. The guy in the church, who was the greatest mover in the Spirit, particularly for discerning of spirits, was an engineer. He’s the wealthiest man in the church. He was an engineer. I mean, they just raised up many people who were ordinary people like you and me. But they were moving in the power of God. I actually have met many of those people. They’re just ordinary folks. Well, he built this church, but it almost killed him. He grew it to about 300 people. And in the fall of 1993, he was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. His wife and associate pastor were covering for him.
But what he didn’t know was that God had been setting things in motion. Let me take you back. If I can turn my manual one more time. Because I want to make sure I don’t miss this. I love the things of God. I love how God puts things together.
In 1984, there was a young man who went to Kansas City, passionate for prayer and intercessions. His name was Mike Bickle. How many of you have never heard of Mike Bickle? Okay, quite a few of you. He’s known now for establishing the International House of Prayer, 24-7 worship, that’s literally going around the country, harp and bowl kind of meetings, one thing conferences, youth, it’s literally a youth invasion. In 1984, he was, he had moved fairly recently to Kansas City from St. Louis. He established the church. He was about 27, 28 years old. And there was a man named Bob Jones who was a prophet who had been basically assigned by God to go and mentor this man, Mike Bickle. And Bob Jones is a very prophetic man. He comes from a very poor, kind of a backwards background. He was a brawler. He had a visitation from Jesus when he was about 30 years old and literally changed his life. And he’s just one of those special people. Now, I need to tell you, anybody that I’m mentioning right now, I want you to understand something. They are not perfect. There is nobody that I’m going to discuss that’s got it all, that’s doing everything right. And in fact, Bob Jones actually fell at one time but was restored.
But he has a track record of hearing from God and prophesying very accurately. Yeah, amen. Some of you know Bob Jones or know of him. I mean, he just prophesies very accurately. Well, in 1984, he had a vision. And what he saw was the dungeon where Joseph was with the baker and the wine steward, the butler. And in the vision, what he understood from the vision was they were there because they were accused of poisoning the bread and the wine. The baker would be accused of poisoning the bread because of the bread being served to the king. And the wine steward would be accused of poisoning the wine. And what he was saying was that there would be, in the natural, there would be ministries that would be sowing the word with hypocrisy and they would fall. And there would be other ministries that were not sowing the word with hypocrisy but with humbleness and love, and they would be exalted. But there were accusations. One accusation was true. The other accusation was false.
Now, the other thing that he said was, as much as they were pressing in for revival and literally believing that revival was coming, he then said, “Revival is coming. But unfortunately, for you, it’s not going to be for another 10 years.” And the reality was, the church wasn’t ready for it. And in fact, in the 80s, if you remember, that’s when Jim Bakker fell. Isn’t it interesting that there were accusations. The baker and the wine steward. And the baker fell. Now, for those of you who don’t know, Jim Bakker has been restored. Actually, a friend of ours from California got a prophetic word for him while he was still in prison. Frankly, he didn’t even like Jim Bakker. But he had this prophetic word. So what do you do with it? Well, he ends up talking to somebody who’s got an in and got him the ability to go into prison and meet Jim Bakker. And he gave him this word. It was a word that literally just helped Jim Bakker. It just helped him in his heart because he was wondering, “When am I ever going to get out of here?” And the other thing, which is really interesting to know, is Jim Bakker admitted, “I did not… I was not even saved. I did not…
I was not truly saved. I was preaching the word with hypocrisy.” But as God puts things together, there was a man who was in prison with him who was a Greek and Hebrew scholar who loved to mentor students. And Jim Bakker became his student. And that’s how he learned the word. And it became born again. And as you know, his ministry has been restored. He’s doing great.
One accusation will be true. The other accusation will be false. And then the prophetic word came forth. “Just as My Son Jesus came to offend the religious leaders, I’m coming to offend the mind to reveal the heart.” What the prophetic word, 10 years before Toronto ever happened, was that it was going to be an offense. There would be some who would not like it. There would be some who would love it. And it was going to split churches. It was going to split denominations. It was going to split families. And we can testify to that. You haven’t heard our testimony at all. It’s part of it on one of those CDs back there, Created for Good Works. But we were not even in the same church. We were so far off the page. Because she had a group of people who came to her church that had been to a Toronto-style event. And they came back with an attitude. Like, if you don’t shake and bake, if you don’t do this, if you don’t laugh and fall on the floor, you don’t have what we have. And there’s something wrong with you. And it was a bad attitude. Unfortunately, there was too much of that attitude back in the early days of the renewal. I loved renewal.
I didn’t have any bad experiences. And I just dived in. We were so far apart. We were in different churches. And in fact, we didn’t get to Toronto until January of 1996. We went for a week. God kept us there for three weeks. And literally, our marriage was… It wasn’t healed. We were given a new marriage through the renewal. So it’s really hard for me to say anything against Toronto. Really hard for me to say anything against this renewal. There were accusations. One would be true and one would be false. And when Toronto happened in 1994, people like Mike Bickle, who had had the prophetic word, went to Toronto, came down to Lakeland, Florida, to see Rodney Howard Brown. And basically, being such a serious, passionate man… I mean, he grew up studying Jonathan Edwards and Brainerd and Finney and powerful people like that. And so when he goes to Toronto, when he comes to Lakeland, Florida, to see Rodney Howard Brown, he said, “It’s so flippant.” But if I hadn’t had that prophetic word back then, I wouldn’t have understood. But God was preparing things and getting things ready so that He could pour out His Spirit. Now, interestingly, in 1993, Bob Jones has a prophecy.
God says, “I’m raising up the spirit of Cyrus in the land of the Chickadee, which is Toronto. People are starving. I’m sending Cyrus to bring a new move and he will call those things that are not as though they were.” Now, for those of you who don’t know, the Toronto blessing came out of a Vineyard church in a warehouse building. It was a church of about 300 people in a warehouse building at the end of the runway in Toronto, Canada. And the pastors of that church were John and Carol Arnott.
“I’m sending a new move and he will call those things that are not as though they were.” There had been prophecy in 1975. Paul Yonggi Cho from Korea, one of the largest churches in the world. At one time, they had a million people. Cell group church. He had said when he was in Kelowna, British Columbia in Canada that the Lord says that I am going to visit this nation. This nation is going to be the bridge to bridge the gap. Basically, the gap in the church. In 1984, you have this prophecy that the wine and the bread, one accusation is false, one accusation is true. And I’m coming in 10 years. 1987, Larry Randolph, some of you may know him. He had recently moved to California. He was trying to take a nap in the afternoon. And unlike here, where you actually can smell the rain and it does rain, he smelled the rain, heard the rain, opens the blinds. It’s one of these blue, beautiful days that we have many times in California. And it happens like three times. And the Lord speaks to him and says, “I’m going to pour out My Spirit in seven years. And you’ll know it when there is heavy rains and the Mississippi River changes course and actually backs up.”
And if any of you know anything about that history of that time, in 1993, the Mississippi River actually overflooded, over flooded, it washed over. Overflowed. Yeah. Overflowed its banks and actually backed up in some places. And there was a little church near the Mississippi River in St. Louis, a Vineyard church pastored by Randy Clark. And his basement flooded three times in that church. He didn’t know God was setting him up. Because there was another prophecy. There’s a man named Paul Cain. Now for those of you, how many of you never heard of Paul Cain? Okay. Paul Cain was known as the boy prophet in the 1950s. For those of you who may not know, there was a healing revival. William Branham, Oral Roberts, A.A. Allen, people like that. People who literally went all around the country bringing revival, healing revival. It was absolutely incredible. Paul Cain, at one time at about 27 years old, had the largest tent, larger than Oral Roberts, larger than Branham’s. But the Lord pulled him away. And literally for about 25 years took him to the desert and said, “This move is impure and I’m calling you to the desert, but I will bring you back at the beginning of the end time harvest.” And in the 80s, he was, he literally came back.
Now recently, he’s had some problems. He fell. He is being restored. That is being worked out. He’s not restored yet. Once again, not perfect. But he has a track record. He was one of these guys that could come into a room like this having never seen y’all and take this second row and tell you your name, middle initial, and your address. And if there was something wrong with you, he could tell you what was wrong. I mean, it was such incredible gifting. What it was is, I mean, it’s just showing us what’s possible. Paul Cain was speaking at the Anaheim Vineyard in December 31st, New Year’s Eve, 1993. 1993. And he says, this year, meaning 1994, that we’re getting ready to go into, God is going to release a new wave of His Spirit through the Vineyard. And it’s going to happen through John and Carol Arnott, not Wimber.
The pastors in Toronto were John and Carol Arnott. The pastors of the Anaheim Vineyard were John and Carol Wimber. “I’m going to release the Spirit, and it’s going to happen through John and Carol Arnott, not Wimber.” God was setting it up, telling us, “I’m going to release something that’s going to go around the world, but it’s not going to be through the Anaheim Vineyard. It’s going to be through Toronto.” And if you know the history, for a while, it was wonderful. The Vineyard embraced it, but you have the Anaheim Vineyard in California and Toronto, 3,000 miles away. You’ve got a church that’s growing up. It’s like the sun, and it’s time to let the sun go. And John Wimber and the Vineyard are catching flack from all the people who don’t think this is right, don’t think it’s good. Remember, it’s just like Jesus. Was Jesus offensive to people? Was there controversy when Jesus walked? Why do we think it would be any different? When the move of God comes, why do we think it would be any different? But I don’t know about you, but I want the authentic move of God. And I believe what we are in right now is the authentic move of God. And so, they basically, after a while, disfellowshipped.
It’s a long story. There was probably wrong on both sides, the Vineyards as well as the Toronto Church. But if you know anything about the Toronto Church, they have had meetings six nights a week since January 20th, 1994, up until about six to nine months ago, somewhere in that time period. They’re now in their 13th year. They have eight to ten conferences a year. When they have a conference, three, five, ten thousand people will come from around the world. Marriages have gotten healed. Pastors, one of the greatest things that was happening up there were pastors who were burned out and ready to quit the ministry were restored going to Toronto. And they lit a fire of revival all around the world. United States as well as many different countries, they had a huge effect. God was setting all this up together. Now, kind of back to my place. I left this pastor who’s burned out on the verge of a nervous breakdown. It’s Randy Clark. His wife and associate pastor are covering for him. He gets a prophetic phone call at midnight one night from an old friend who had been in the Baptist church and hadn’t seen him, hadn’t talked to him in ten years. Called him up and said, “Randy, I’ve just seen a guy about two weeks ago named Rodney Howard Brown.
I think you need to go see him.” And he was asking him, you know, “What did you see?” “I saw people falling and shaking and people just being touched by God.” And that did not impress Randy. What got him was this. He said, “What’s been the fruit since you went to see that man?” He said, “Randy, I’ve seen more people healed in the last two weeks than I have in the last ten years.” That got his attention. He went to the meeting, 4,500 people in the meeting. He judged the meeting for a while, didn’t like it. And then he got hungry because God touched him. He began to hit that hunger inside of him that he wanted the power of God to come back. Actually, he had said to his associate before that phone call, he said, “I don’t care if we lose half the church. I’ve got to get back to what God called me to be. And it was in signs, wonders, and miracles. I’ve about killed myself trying to grow the church. Church growth. It’s up to 300 people and I’m dying and I’m bored and I can’t take anymore.” And God touched him there. When he left that meeting and at one point, if you know anything about Rodney Howard Brown’s ministry, he is a one-man show.
He prays for the people and only he prays. And when he said, “I’m going to pray for anybody who wants prayer,” out of 4,500 people who were at the meeting, how many do you think stayed and wanted prayer? 4,500 people. That’s a long time of hearing, Phil. And you’re waiting in line 45 minutes later. And as Randy says, that night, that morning, I got in line five times. He didn’t break in line. That’s a good thing. He was hungry and he realized that the nervous condition that he had had was healed.
When he went back to his church, the power of God fell. In that eight years, no one had been healed. No one had fallen under the power of God. And that’s what he was… That’s what the church was birthed in. But it just had left. The Spirit had just left. And in the 80s, what they tell me, now we didn’t know anything about it. I was in the Presbyterian church. I knew nothing about the Spirit. But they tell me in the 80s, it was a really dry period. Some of y’all could probably tell me. It was a really dry period. He didn’t know. He thought it was just him. It was a lot of churches. But that morning, when he gave an altar call, 90% of the church literally leaped over chairs to get to the line. And as he began praying, the power of God fell. He went to another meeting and somebody had heard about it. Said, “Randy, would you just take 10 minutes and tell us what happened to your church? We heard something happen.” Two hours later, as all 70 are laying on the floor, many having been healed of severe physical ailments.
He established God was moving. One man in the Vineyard called him and said, “Would you come to my church and lead meetings? I believe if you come, revival will break out.” That man was John Arnott from the church in Toronto. And as I said, it’s been going on ever since. Now, fast forward another couple of years because Randy Clark was launched into ministry, international ministry, went around the world, went to many churches, lighting fires of revival. God using him powerfully. Fast forward another few years. He’s gone to Redding, California. He had, because he had met Bill Johnson at a conference that he had had in St. Louis. And Bill Johnson had come to that conference. Bill Johnson is the pastor of the church in Redding, California. Probably the most anointed church in America for healing. People literally from around the country and around the world are going to Redding when they have really serious conditions. They’ve got people who are terminally ill getting healed all the time. Does everybody get healed? No, but they are pressing in. He went to Northern California and did meetings in Redding, Vacaville, and a suburb of Sacramento. Those three pastors were really good friends and knew each other for like 30 years. And then because a meeting had been canceled down in Argentina, he decided to come back and spend one week in California.
And he went to Vacaville, California. Vacaville is where we’re now from. We were living in San Diego at the time. And it is halfway between Sacramento and San Francisco just to let you know where that is. And I’m down in San Diego and I’ve read a report of a previous meeting that he had had in Redding. 138 people had been healed one night from words of knowledge and it got my attention. We were not seeing the power of God that I wanted to see in my Vineyard church that we were in a Vineyard church down in San Diego. We were not seeing the power of God like we really wanted to see and I saw something was happening in Northern California and I said, “I’ve got to have it.” It made no sense whatsoever but I’ve got to have it. I should be looking for a job. I should be getting a job. We’re totally running out of money. We have no resources left but I just, I’ve got to be there. If nothing else, maybe I can get on the prayer team. And if I get on the prayer team, you know, maybe something will happen. And literally, my impression was, if I could just get on the prayer team, maybe I could get close enough that something would rub off.
Well, I ended up meeting Randy. I actually became his driver for the week. We would stay up to three o’clock in the morning over at the pastor’s house. And we’d tell stories. It was almost more fun than the meetings. Telling the stories. “Randy, what were you thinking when Toronto fell? And what would you think before that? And how did that happen? And when you prayed for this, what do you say?” I mean, I’m asking him questions and questions and questions. He’s kidding me often that I ask so many questions that, you know, he just would say, “I don’t know. I don’t know.” But he was always available to me. Well, I became his driver, worked with him. And then later he asked me to travel with him. And for 16 months, we got to travel literally around the world. Carol got to go on some of those trips. As I said, the anointing is more often caught than taught. You know, a lot of people say, “Oh, it must have been wonderful. He must have prayed for you all the time.” He never prayed for us. We were so busy. I’ll tell you how it happened. He gets words of knowledge by feeling the pain in his body. That’s about 95% of the time. That’s how he gets words of knowledge. Five months after I’ve been traveling with him, I’m praying for him. Now I’d done something that was in January. I’d done something in December. I really believe this is a key. You know, we get so hung up with money, possessions, things like that. It means so much to us. And it is such a little deal to him. I was faced with a decision. We didn’t have any money. We had a little bit of support. Never was enough. Ran up a credit card debt. We have two cars. One’s nice.
One’s not. And I’m being faced. You either take the two cars and you take one and go get a job. And you got to have a nice car to get to do the job that I, that I do. Or you can sell the car and keep on traveling. And it was like the last vestige of my old life. And it was, you know, now I know some of you women probably are looking and say, “It’s a car. I mean, give me a break.” Guys.
It was a red 93 Lexus ES300. With cladding on the side and leather seats. And it was sharp with, oh, it was, it was hard, but I did it. Two weeks later, I’m in Colombia where we’re getting ready to go. And a week from a week from today, we’ll be in Colombia. Please pray for us. I’m in Colombia and I’m praying for Randy before he goes out to speak to 2,500 people in an outdoor meeting. And I’m praying something like, “Lord, just anoint him, let it use him with power. And, ow. Lord, let him be filled with Your power and let him see things. Ow.” By this time he’s laughing at me. I had never moved in words of knowledge by feeling the pain. I mean, I’d rather, rarely ever gotten a word of knowledge. And I looked at him, he’s laughing at us. “Is that what it feels like?” He said, “Yeah.” I had caught the anointing. When Carol went to, Brazil, she, her mother wanted to send us like on a vacation to Tahiti or something like that for our 30th wedding anniversary. And Carol said, “You know what I really want? I want to go on one of these trips. I’m tired of Bill telling these stories. I want to, I want to do it. I want to say it for myself.” But she was not anointed for physical healing. At least that’s what she thought. And she’s on a team of 19 people.
Many of them were very anointed. And as she tells the story, as she’s there wondering, “God, You send me something easy. Cause I, you know, I can’t do anything hard. Send me somebody with a headache.” This woman comes because there’d been a word of knowledge for fuzzy, blurry vision. And she didn’t get healed during the words of knowledge. She comes up to Carol. She’s got Coke bottle, thick glasses. She kind of defiantly takes them off and says, “This close. I can’t tell if you’re a man or woman, black or white, I’ve had this astigmatism for 30 years. Then I told God, I am not leaving here tonight until I get healed.” That’s what she was faced with.
And you got to know she got healed. She could read the clock on a, on the, on the wall further back than that. There was an anointing that Carol caught. Well, we traveled and then we were released in ministry and we wondered, wow, but this is just so fun. I don’t know. I don’t know. I like it. I don’t know. We wondered, okay, that’s fine. Randy Clark, everybody knows Randy Clark. He’s got an anointing. He’s got, I mean, he’s just got the hand of God upon him, but what about Bill and Carol? We’re released in ministry now. Is anything going to happen? We did a meeting in San Diego. It was one of our first meetings and we’re doing our training and everything. At the end of the day, 4:30, whatever, we’re praying for impartation. What we’re going to pray for tonight. And so Carol takes one side of the room, I take the other and people are laid out over here and I’m praying for somebody right here. And there’s a woman, she’s the church secretary. She’s got a prayer ministry badge on, but she’s never prayed for anybody for anything. And they thought, you know, if you’re going to be the church secretary, you’re on the prayer team automatically because you’re kind of like an officer of the church. So you probably ought to know how to do it. So come to the training. So anyway, she’s getting up, you know, sitting up off the floor and I just kind of went, “Take some more.” And she told me later, said, it felt like something went inside of her. Boom, down she goes again. Well, she leaves at five o’clock to go home to check on her husband who’s been feeling ill because she’s going to come back to the church for an intercessory prayer meeting. We’ve gone on home. We don’t even know any of this is happening until the next week when the pastor tells us. She goes home, finds her husband passed out on the floor, a really high fever, gets him into the car, takes him to the emergency room, gets in one of those little stalls with the curtains, you know. The doctor walks in, sees the prayer ministry badge and says, “If you believe in prayer, you better start praying because his fever is really high and I’m concerned about him.” Instantly oil forms on her hand. She lays hands on this guy. Three minutes later, he’s like, “Why am I here?” His temperature is perfectly normal.
Somebody in the next stall hears this, comes over and says, “Could you come pray for my uncle? He’s got cancer and they’ve had to amputate his legs at the knees and they don’t think he’s going to make it through the night.” Well, sure, I’ll come pray. Now, we don’t know what happened to that guy other than he flew home three days later to Ohio. Somebody else heard this prayer. “Would you come pray? Would you come pray? We heard you praying. Would you come pray?” She got there at 5:30 in the afternoon. She left at 5 in the morning. She prayed for 20 people. She led five to the Lord and we know five were significantly healed and she had never prayed for anybody. Ever.
Yeah. There was an anointing when we laid hands on her. In 2001, we had moved up to Vacaville, which is now our home church. And we’re doing a Friday night renewal meeting. We don’t have those renewals on Friday night anymore, but we’re doing a renewal meeting and we’re moving. The power of God’s come in. And I wanted to show, you know, it’s not just the speaker and, you know, the anointed man of power for the hour, that stuff. God wants to use all of us. And so I said, “Let me have two people who, you know, you don’t do this.” Well, two people come up. Actually, one kind of liked it and one didn’t. And I found out from the one who did like it. Her name is Jenny. Jenny had been in that church for 15 years, had never prayed for anybody. Not because she didn’t believe in it. She just never had an opportunity. And so I just kind of brought some people up. I’ve done that with several of y’all already. I brought some people up and I said, “Just follow what I’m doing. Just do it and just touch them and say, ‘Come Holy Spirit.’” She touches the woman, “Come Holy Spirit.” Boom. Down she goes. Eyes get real big. I love that look. I do. And so we go into healing. Now the other lady didn’t really like it too much. And so she went and sat down. Well, we went into healing. So I’ve got a line here and I’m praying for people. And I notice I’ve got this little shadow, just like I got right here.
And every time I’m going, I’m praying for somebody. Jenny is right there. I turned to her. I said, “You like this, don’t you?” She said, “Yeah, I do.” I said, “Okay, you do it. You’ve watched me. You can do it.” “Oh, me? I can’t do that.” “Yes, you can. Do you love Jesus?” “Yeah.” He filled with the Spirit? “Yeah.” We’ll let Him out. See, the Holy Spirit is in you for you, but He’s upon you for someone else. We’ve got to get, we got to get a hold of that. That’s what Carol was really talking about. Bob Johnson, who is Bill Johnson’s brother, they have a ministry on the streets of San Francisco to the homeless and the prostitutes and the transvestites. This is only nine months after she had gotten touched and began to believe that she could do this too. And she’s praying for people and they’re getting healed. They’re getting touched. Well, she meets this woman named Kitty, who’s a street person. And she comes back a couple of weeks later and Kitty is lying on the sidewalk, blue, no pulse, no breath, no vital signs. Kitty’s dead. Kitty is dead. She did everything she could to revive her. And it was absolutely convinced that Kitty was dead, but she began doing warfare, called life back into that body. And all of a sudden, Kitty breathes. And she was able to see Kitty for the next few weeks. This is the woman who is one of our chief prayer ministers. And when you call our church in the morning, she’s the one who answers the phone. She’s the receptionist.
She was, I heard life literally was turned upside down and was changed every bit the same way that my life was changed. When God touched me in 1992, I had never been in a Pentecostal charismatic church. I had never seen it on TV. I’d never… I didn’t have any frame of reference and I didn’t have any power of suggestion. And when the man said, “Come Holy Spirit,” darn if He didn’t. And I shook violently from the waist down, perfectly peace up top. I had a vision of Jesus. He came and told me He loved me and He forgave me and He said, “And son, you can do this too.” And that night I got empowered and I got to pray for the very first person ever. And they got healed. And as I told you, it was Carol because Carol had fallen and gotten hurt and she got healed that night. And I just, I got on a rocket ship. I had my life changed and turned upside down just as it says in 1 Samuel 10:6. And when we went to Brazil two years ago to Fortaleza, where some of you guys are going, we walked in the very first night into the, into the Baptist church, more Pentecostal than most Baptist churches or most Pentecostal churches in the United States.
I had a word of knowledge. Somebody had had been in motorcycle accidents and, had never really been healed from that. I gave the word, three people responded, but one is the one I remember the most. Juan shook violently from the waist down, but was that perfect peace from the top. He went home that night. They don’t have Kmart down there, but he had a blue light special. The angel of the Lord visited him during the night and lit up the room in blue. He came back. He’d only been saved two years. He came back on fire for God. And I’ll guarantee you, those of you going to Fortaleza, I’ll guarantee you’re going to see Juan. I mean, he is lit during that period that we were down there for 39 days. He’d go to the hospital and pray for friends. He prayed for one friend for five hours and the guy left the hospital healed. Didn’t have to have the doctors take care of him. He would evangelize. He would preach the gospel. He led people to the Lord. He was just so hungry. We went to the first church and he was there. That was his church. We went to the second church. There he was in the front row. Went to the third church. There he was in the front row. He went to every meeting we went. He got on fire because he saw a power that he had never seen before. Carol, during one of those trips that we took to Brazil, had an opportunity to minister.
It was kind of one time we were going to be in that church, and it was just open heaven. I mean, it was just incredible. And she goes, wades into this group. She’s got a 16-year-old girl who is coming alongside of her, watching her. She speaks English, so she’s able to help her. And as the power of God comes, people are falling out, just being touched by God. And finally, she turns to Talawani and says, “Now you do it.” “Me?” That big old eye thing again. “Yeah, you’ve seen it.” And she begins praying. And the more she prayed, and the more she prayed for healing, the drunker she got. But people were being healed. Well, we get an email from her two months later. She said, “I went home, and I told my Father in heaven, I want to be a vessel poured out for Your honor and Your glory. I’m willing to pray for the bums in the street and the cripples and prostitutes, and I’ll even pray for rich people.”
And she had an opportunity. You know, when you pray dangerous prayers like that, you better watch out. So she’s going to school, and she sees a man begging on the street. “Oh, I’m not ready. I can’t do this.” Anybody relate to that? I can’t do this. I’m not ready. And a woman comes right in front of her, shares the gospel with this guy, and he gets saved. And she said, “Oh, I missed my opportunity, Lord. I’m sorry. Give me another chance.” The next day, she’s walking to school again, English school, and she encounters a man who is crippled on the street. “No, no, no, I’m not ready.” And she passes that man. He says to her, without… I mean, she’s not done anything. She’s not even hardly looked at him. But he says, “I’ll be waiting for you.” She goes to school, bargains with the Lord. I know none of you have ever done this. “If he’s still here, still there, I’ll stop.” Okay. How many understand? He’s a cripple. Just like the man at the Gate Beautiful. He’s not going anywhere. So he’s there. When she walks up, he says, before she can say one word, “A man appeared to me today, dressed all in white, and said, ‘You have something precious to give me.’”
Now, right there, she should have known, cha-ching, slam dunk. I mean, she couldn’t even mess that one up, no matter what she did. So she begins leading the man in the gospel, gets him saved, and then she hears, “Dallawani, he’s crippled. What are you going to do about it?”
“Do you believe in healing?” “Well, I know what the Bible says, but I’m not sure for me.” “No, you must believe. In the name of Jesus, rise and walk.” She takes his hand, picks him up, and he walks.
There is an anointing that is transferable. And just so anybody wonders, there’s, well, okay, Bill, that’s like two stories in foreign countries. What about here? Midland, Texas, just a few months ago. We’re in a group like this. We’d never been there before. We’d never, we had never met one person. We’d never even met the pastor. He saw something that we had written on the internet, and he liked it, and he invited us in. All through the weekend, I just kept seeing his 21-year-old daughter-in-law, Ashley. Ashley. Ashley had an anointing, and I began speaking into it, prophesying into it, laying hands on her. She would shake, but she had never shaken like she shook that time. It was like electricity was pouring through her, and I kept getting a verse, which I’ve gotten for several of you, which, I can’t find you now. Yeah, you’re one of them. Habakkuk 3:4. There were rays flashing from His hands, and there His power was hidden. I had just kind of had an encounter with something like that, and actually, I’ve had that happen to me as I’ve prayed. And I began prophesying that, and she just was shaking. She said, “Just there’s electricity. It’s just going all through me.” There were times when she couldn’t control herself. It was just so powerful.
Well, she wrote us about two or three weeks later, and she said, “You know, I’ve prayed for people and seen a little bit happen, but now I’m praying for people. I’m praying for the sick. Everybody that I’m praying for is getting healed, and when they get healed, they feel electricity flowing from me out of me into them, and it’s healing.” There is an anointing that’s transferable. Tonight, God is going to touch many of you. And here’s the deal. You might not even be that hungry. I wasn’t. The night in 1992, I was relatively lukewarm. God had just been dealing with me a little bit, but I didn’t know what to expect. And I went pretty lukewarm. He’s no respecter of persons. And He doesn’t always touch just the most hungry. Because He knows, if He only touches the ones that have the highest character and those are the most desperate, that we’ll turn it… Because we are little Pharisees. We’ll turn it into a works theology. And so, by His grace, by His grace, if you knew my history, if… I mean, the fact… I’ve not been to Bible school. I’ve not been to seminary. I haven’t even read the whole Bible. Okay? I’ll be honest with you. But I’ve been in the school of the Holy Spirit.
And it’s a good school. It’s very accredited. And I know that I carry a power of God. And I want more. I don’t know about you, but I want more. This couple is carrying something. I knew that they were going to be able to impart something to y’all and to us. She has an anointing for breaking in dance. I don’t really dance. I can do that charismatic hip-hop a little bit. But the other night, I found myself doing that thing that I don’t know what I was doing, but I was doing it with you. And I liked it. I liked it. I’m still not going to do flags, but I like that dance.
And that youthful passion and what’s available to us. I mean, that’s what Jamie’s bringing. Carol brings just an incredible anointing for pressing in. And I don’t know what I bring. You know, the best thing that’s ever been, the nicest thing that’s ever been said about us. We’re in church for the weekend in Oregon a couple years ago. And pastors, you know, we did a Friday night, all day Saturday, Saturday night, Sunday morning. We were getting ready to go into the meeting that night. And he said, “You know, we’ve been with you all weekend. Ministering has really been wonderful. We can tell God’s with you. We can tell you’re anointed. But you’re just so ordinary. But you make us believe we can do this too.” We believe that’s our greatest gift of what we give. Okay. That did fairly good.
You know, when you’re up speaking, you’ve thought about things you want to say and then you get going and sometimes you need a wife to remind you of something that’s really important. Because Bill laid the found, kind of the prophetic history of the outbreak of the Holy Spirit in Toronto. God had been speaking through multiple, multiple prophetic voices, declaring what was going to happen. Very specifically, the year that was going to happen, kind of what was going to happen. God talked about where it was going to happen and it happened. Okay. If God was speaking that clearly and accurately, then we need to be paying attention to what’s He saying now that’s down the road that’s coming. And there’s been a prophecy. Are you ready to take it now? Okay. Let me actually tell you about two prophecies. There was a prophecy given to Randy Clark and John Arnott in the early days of Toronto that most people haven’t heard. Many people have heard that before Toronto happened, it was said, “God’s getting ready to pour out His Spirit. It’s going to come in waves. The first wave is about renewing the church. Church is always in renewal. The second wave is about power to the streets.” That’s really what’s happening now. I mean, everybody is talking about going into the streets, going into the marketplace, prophesying, spiritual readings.
Y’all have all heard of things like that, right? You go to the New Age meetings, you go to the coffee shops, and you put up a sign, free spiritual words, free spiritual readings, those kind of things. That’s what’s happening. But here’s the word that hardly anybody really knew because it never was really popularized or publicized. And this was the word. It was the very prophetic woman who was well known to the body of Christ and well respected. She comes to John Arnott and Randy Clark and says, “The Lord says, I’m coming to you now gently so you will not be afraid when I come in power.” And of course, their reaction was, “This is gentle.” I’m telling you, we’ve got something coming that is going to shake us. If you’ve been offended by what’s happened so far, hold on.
March 24th, just a couple of months ago, Bob Jones had a visitation. He said it’s the second strongest visitation he’s ever had. It was an Acts 10:10 kind of visitation, you know, where Peter goes into the trance and sees the sheet and everything. And this is where he gets his greatest revelation. And to make a long story short, there’s an angel that comes to him. He sees in the vision, there’s 12 angels, but there’s one that is like a, the spokesperson, comes in a very gentle way, a friendly way. And he says, “My name is Breakthrough. I am the angel called Breakthrough. And I’ve been assigned to the United States.” And he was saying that his job is to, basically it’s Matthew 13, where to clear away the tares and the stuff so that when there’s a gathering in the last final harvest that “I will gather the harvest into My barn.” We are in an end time revival that is gonna sweep the world and is gonna make us, I mean, it’s just gonna be awesome. And it’s not gonna stop. It is not gonna stop. The question is, are we gonna stop it? You go to other countries in the world and they are on fire. They are on fire. Revival is coming to this country and I wanna tell you, the same things that are happening other places are happening here.
And we’re starting to hear about them more and more. And one of the key elements of this prophecy was Matthew 10:7 and 8, which was basically a healing prophecy. Heal the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead, cast out demons. There is a healing revival that is coming. God has said that I am going to restore the healing revival only this time it’s gonna be taken to its completion. The problem with the healing revival in the 1950s was it wasn’t pure and they never imparted the gift to someone. It was the one man show and people got healed and that was wonderful but nobody could duplicate it. It was just if you got anointed for that. Now there are many, many people who are being anointed like Jenny, like that secretary in San Diego, like Talawani, 16 year old girl. And story after story after story that I could tell you, same thing I know Jamie could tell you, same story. Mason, I have a sense, is a byproduct of something like that. He’s a very anointed young man and God has just chosen him and picked him out. God wants to do that with many of you.
Amen? Amen.
