Messages spoken at the Connecticut Gateway Camps Farthest Out
Connecticut Gateway CFO:
28 messages from 9 gatherings, 1976 to 1995.
Two New England camps stand behind this name. Campers in western Massachusetts began the Pioneer Valley CFO at Cummington in 1973, later called simply the Pioneer CFO and, from 1995, Cape Cod Gateway. Connecticut campers began a camp of their own at My Father's House in Moodus in 1985. In 1998 the two joined as Connecticut Gateway, gathering at the Canonicus Conference Center in Exeter, Rhode Island.
The recordings run from 1976 to 1995 and include Marcia Brown, Homer Martin, Evelyn Carter Spencer and Kahn Uyeyama, among others.

The Gopher That Never Touched the Garden
Kahn Uyeyama tells campers to "bless the gopher." When gophers tear up his vegetable garden, he surrenders it to God rather than fight them. He applies the same surrender to a difficult coworker, a debate opponent, and a marriage he later learns was restored, calling it the fruit of the Spirit at work at the 1977 Connecticut Gateway CFO.
