Bill Dew describes a young man who prays for a deaf shopper at a grocery store checkout, and then borrows the intercom to announce her healing to the whole store. He also tells of a man whose locked shoulder loosens after prayer at the front of the room. Speaking to the Florida Family CFO in 2006, Dew frames these signs as normal Christian life, not the exception.

Healed Over the Grocery Store Intercom

I was given a message a couple of years ago. This is actually four years ago now. There’s a man at the back. And you can tell my message is about pressing in, about just being so hungry for God. And you could tell he wanted to… he was being drawn, but that would be rude. You can’t interrupt the speaker, right? But he was just, you know, it’s one of the… and I could tell. And the pastor got a little nervous. I said, “Don’t worry about it. It’s all right. I know what I’m doing. And He does too.” And so about this time, the guy just broke. And as he’s coming toward me, I thought I saw a pack of cigarettes in his pocket. So I started coming against that spirit of nicotine. Now, I don’t know what happened to him. But I know what happened to the two people who were sitting right here. You see, I had invited people to come forward. It’s not that there’s so much anointing up front and that you can’t get touched back there. You can. God can touch you anywhere. But there’s just sometimes something about being in the presence and in a hunger. And a lot of times, this is where the anointing is because the worship’s been here, the speakers are here, etc.
Well, there were two people sitting right here who were long-time smokers. They’re in their 30s, long-time smokers. And they told me, when I came against that spirit of nicotine, it must have ricocheted because it hit them. And they were instantly delivered from smoking. And that was four years ago. We still see them periodically. They’re from the Santa Rosa area. And they are totally free from smoking. So there is such a thing as collateral blessing. And I don’t know about you, but I want to be near where the anointing is. Now, personally, not knowing anything about us or just the fact that at least there’s some speakers in, I would have sat right here on this row next to them. And I would be sitting next to him. Because when I traveled, before I ever traveled with Randy Clark, I had an opportunity to meet him. And I became his driver. I had sat in some of his meetings, but I had never met the man. Well, I became his driver for a week. And I got him about an hour away from Napa. And the church had asked me, would you take him over there? We don’t have anybody to take him. And literally twice, I reached over into my glove box to get something.
That was my ruse. I didn’t need anything out of the glove box. But I figured if I rubbed up against him, maybe something would rub off. So having said all of that, if anyone wanted to come forward like you did, it would be okay with me. I really don’t mind. And if you want to come sit right here, I really don’t care.
And I can tell you honestly that I’ve had people who have done that and something has happened with them. Okay. Would I be on firm ground if I said that in John 14, it talks about the Holy Spirit who teaches us all things? He is our teacher. He’s our guide. And that Jesus is our model. Am I on firm ground? Am I okay? Father, I pray, Holy Spirit, that You would come in power and teach us tonight. And if we have believed anything other than what the book, the Gospels, say about who Jesus is and who we are to be, Lord, we ask Your forgiveness and we just give it up. And we ask, Holy Spirit, that You would come and teach us. We ask that You come and begin to touch our hearts. That, Lord, You would release Your healing power even as I speak. Thank You, Lord, for what You’re doing. Thank You, Holy Spirit, that You are present in this room. And I come in the authority and the power of Your name. I bind all evil forces, powers, and spirits. I bind every spirit of fear, doubt, confusion, and unbelief. And I loose faith in this room and in these people in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Now, here’s what I’m going to do. It’s 8:15, according to my watch. And there’s not a clock back there. But I can see. That’s good. We were in Montana a couple months ago. And we were in their service. What they were doing was auditioning us. They had us in Sunday morning and Sunday night. The pastor had met me, hadn’t met Carol. And they were auditioning us to see if they wanted to have us back. And they actually said they wanted us back. But they haven’t had us back yet. We’d have no contact with them. So maybe we failed. I used to say we passed the audition. But now I’m not so sure. In any event… Just come on. Let’s see. Right there. Just come on. And just come on. Just slide in there. Make room. Yeah. Get him, Lord. Get him. Get him. Get her. And so anyway, we’re in the Sunday morning meeting. And this woman… We had 30 people get healed. And this woman has fuzzy vision. She can’t see any further than this. And her vision clears up. And I said, “So, you can see that clock back there?” And she looks at it. “You can read that clock back there?” And she said, “Yeah, I could.” If it was a clock, it’s not.
It’s a big round smoke detector. Now, we’re going to be an encouragement to you this week. They’re going to be an encouragement at what God is doing with the young people. And the power and the enthusiasm. And just that youthful exuberance. And we’re going to be an encouragement to show you what God can do with a bunch of old people.
That God can take hold of somebody 14 and a half years ago at 47 years old who was in the church for 13 years but was unsaved and living in sin. Who’s never been to Bible school, never been to seminary. And just turned him radically upside down. The very first person I ever prayed for after I got baptized in the Spirit on March 31st, 1992 at 8:15 in the evening. Yeah, I mean, I can pinpoint it that close. The very first person I prayed for got healed. And God hooked me. And I know it to be true because it was Carol.
And we’re going to be an encouragement to you because what you’ll find out as you get to know us a little bit, that I can barely talk. But I got some great stories. And I’m not a preacher. You’ll get that one real quick. But I tell some great stories. And the point is in the story. So if you can follow this… Now, if you’re a precept upon precept, line upon line, you’re going to like Carol more, but you may not be able to handle me. But if you’ll just hang in with the story, you’ll get the point. Okay. So I’m going to get started. Here’s my premise. I want to be a normal Christian. And my premise is this. Being a normal Christian is not what most of us think.
The church without power is not really the church. It’s a social club with good morals. It’s the lottery club with tongues. But it’s not the church. The church is supposed to be a place where you can get saved, healed, delivered. Set on fire. Living for God. 24-7. Armed and dangerous. So that you take the power and the presence of God out into the marketplace. That you make a difference. That you don’t wait for the people to come into the church. So that’s the mindset that we’ve bought into for the last several hundred years. And it was never meant to be that way. I only find four places in the Gospels where Jesus healed in the temple. Everything else is out in the marketplace as people are coming and going and coming up to Him. And that’s what we’re to be. I want to be a normal Christian. And here’s my premise. If you want to know what it looks like to be a normal Christian, if you want to know what normal Christianity looks like, you wouldn’t look at the four Gospels. Because we had Jesus with us at that time. What you would look at is the book of Acts. Because Jesus had died, gone to heaven, sits at the right hand of the Father.
He sent His Holy Spirit. And so if you want to look like… and know what it looks like, then I think it’s the book of Acts. And so I just want to look… I want to take a whirlwind tour. And as I said, it’s now 8:20. I’ve spent five minutes, roughly. I’m going to talk for a little bit, tell a few stories. I know we have to stop at 9 o’clock. If I get to running, and sometimes that happens, y’all just stop me. We’ll pray. And then I think we’re supposed to dismiss. And so if you get through before I do, feel free to leave. But then we’re going to go into some ministry time. You know, we did a family camp for the Methodists in Southern California last year, last summer. And one of the comments that we got… because they’d been doing this camp twice a year for 28 years. And the comment we got was, “We normally have our healing service on Thursday night. And we’re so glad that you started healing before we ever got to that night.” Because the very first time we spoke, Monday morning, people started getting healed. People are going to get healed tonight. I believe that with all my heart. God is going to… Whoa! God is going to pour out His healing power, and particularly on that person who has the pain in the left groin area, the left leg right here.
I just feel like God is really going to bring healing, and He’s going to bring healing even as I speak. So, here’s my premise. Book of Acts looks like normal Christianity. We ought to be looking like normal Christians. Acts chapter 3. You’re familiar with the story? I’m just going to do a whirlwind tour over some of the stories. Acts chapter 3. You know the story. John and Peter pass the man at the Gate Beautiful. He’s begging. He wants a sandwich. He wants some money. He wants something. That’s what he does. And they said, “We don’t have any of that kind of stuff, but what we do have, we give to you in the name of Jesus. Rise and walk.” Everybody familiar with that story? That’s a real story. That really happened. I believe that with all my heart. And do you know that it still happens today? 23-year-old Chad, about a year, a little over a year ago, walks into the grocery store at 10 o’clock at evening, about then, because he’s hungry, and he knows he doesn’t have any food at home. And so he gets some donuts, because that’s what 23-year-old kids eat, probably.
That’s what he bought. He bought donuts. He didn’t have any food at home. He bought donuts. And so he goes to the cashier in the line. He notices that the woman in front of him has hearing aid in. He engages her in conversation, kind of interrupts the cashiers taking the money, engages her in conversation, talks about Jesus. Jesus heals today. “Could I pray for you?” She agrees. She takes out the hearing aids. He prays for her. And then to test, after that minute prayer or so, he begins backing up. “Just repeat after me. Hi, my name is Chad. I love pizza. Jesus just healed my ears. I can hear perfectly now.” By this time, all the cashiers are watching this and are pressing in like, because they can’t hear it. But the woman is repeating everything he’s saying. Her ears popped open.
Yeah. Yeah. That ought to be normal. But the story doesn’t stop there. He turns to the cashier and says, “Do you think there’s any way that I could borrow your intercom system? Because God’s in the house. You saw the woman just get healed.” She said, “Yes, God’s in the house.” So he gets on the loudspeaker. “Attention, shoppers.”
Come on, don’t you want to do that just once? God just healed this woman. She gets on the intercom. “Yeah, God’s healed my ears. I was 100% deaf in one ear. The other one’s 50% deaf. And now I can hear the show. God prayed for me.” And she’s weeping. The cashiers are weeping because they watched all of this. And then he begins calling out words of knowledge. “There’s somebody here. I can see the words hip. New hip. New hip. Thank you. New hip. And carpal tunnel syndrome. So bad that it just burns.” Well, about this time, people are starting to look down the aisles because he’s saying, “If you need healing, come to cash register number three.”
And like, you know, is that a new service of the supermarket? What is that? And sure enough, here comes… I don’t know if I’ll do it here, but in California, the people who can’t walk, they have those little carts, those little motorized carts. Here comes the lady in the motorized cart. She’s facing hip replacement surgery next week, the next week. He prays for her. Then he said, and this is really important, he says, “Now try. Put your faith in action.” “Oh, I can’t. It always hurts when I move.” “No, put your faith in action.” So she moves it. “Oh, it doesn’t hurt. Do you think I could get up?” “Yes, I do. Get up and walk.” So she begins to walk and she walks out of the store, totally healed. About this time, see, when the power of God comes, a crowd will be gathered. And that’s what was happening. All these people around, they’re wanting to get healed. They’re wanting to get saved. They’re just being drawn by the power of God. And all of a sudden, this crowd starts to be thrown aside because this man comes barging in. Kind of rude sounding, doesn’t it? But you know what we call rudeness? God calls spiritual hunger. This man had carpal tunnel syndrome so bad, so severe for two years.
And it burned in his hands. And he was a concert pianist and taught. That’s how he made a living. And he said, “Do you think God would heal me? You had a word for carpal tunnel syndrome.” And he said, “Well, let’s pray.” They prayed for him. The fire of God hit him. Only this time, it was a good fire. And he walked out of there, totally healed. We ought to expect that. That is normal Christianity.
Let me take you to Acts chapter 5, verse 15. This is the story about Peter’s shadow. In other words, they saw so much of the healing power moving through the disciples that they would put the sick out so that maybe when Peter would pass by, his shadow would heal. Now, his shadow was not healing. You do know that. It was the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit flowing out of him. You see, many times the Holy Spirit is held captive inside of unbelieving believers. And He’s just looking to get out. You know, He’s not looking for great theology. He’s not looking for great anointing so much. He’s not looking for wealth and good looks. I mean, thank God. He’s not looking for riches. He’s not looking for titles and positions. He’s looking for someone who’ll say, “Here I am, Lord, use me.” Y’all may remember the song Ron Kenoly. In fact, I know Ron Kenoly moved to Florida somewhere. Ron Kenoly, when he was in San Jose, just rocketed. And so, several years ago, he had a song, “Take my hands and my feet, touch my heart, Lord, speak to me. If You can use anything, You can use me. What I have may not be much, but it can multiply in Your touch. So, if You can use anything, Lord, come on, You can use me.”
That’s all God’s looking for, is someone who’ll say that. You don’t have to have the right words. In fact, we’ve changed the way we teach people how to pray. Anyway, Acts chapter 5, verse 15, Peter’s shadow. It’s the overshadowing. It’s the Holy Spirit flowing out of him. We ought to expect that when we go into a place, we change the physical atmosphere. Jill Austin, some of y’all have heard of her. She’s a well-known prophetic lady in the body of Christ. Well-respected, has a good track record. She’s a friend of ours. We’ve known her since 1992 when I got saved and everything started happening for us. A couple of years ago, we were together in San Diego. We got to catch up with her. You know, we don’t get to see her very often. And so, we’re in this pizza restaurant. There’s nobody over here. There’s one booth behind me and we’re in like the corner. And so, Carol and I are sitting here. Jill’s sitting here. We’re talking normal voice. We’re not loud or anything like that. We’re just telling some God stories. You know, “Hey, what’s happening with you? What are you seeing in your ministry?” “Here’s what we’re seeing in our ministry. Here’s what we’ve done. Yada. Here’s where you’ve been. Where have you been?”
Just catching up. Those kinds of things. And three guys are sitting at this table right behind me and the Lord whispers to me, yes, He does talk and we ought to expect that He talks. And He talks to us all the time. Most of us just aren’t tuned in. And the Lord whispers to me and says, “They’re going to get up because they can’t take it.” And sure enough, a minute later, I’m listening to this kind of, you know, I didn’t turn or anything like that, but I could hear this. The guy says, “Can you move us over to that table right over there?” What it is, it’s found in, I think it’s 2 Corinthians 2 or so. It says that we are a fragrance of Christ. And to some, we are the fragrance of life. And to some, we are the fragrance of death. And those gentlemen, it’s not that they didn’t like the pizza, not that they didn’t like the server. They just didn’t like the atmosphere where others are drawn to it. I used to travel with my worship leader before I ever met Randy Clark. I traveled some because I was interested in worldwide ministry. And this guy has an anointing through the Vineyard. And I was in a Vineyard church and I got to travel with him.
He went to Houston. And so I went with him. We were doing like a youth conference kind of thing. And we got permission to take a hundred youth into an indoor enclosed mall in Houston. And it’s actually, we used to live in Houston and we were familiar with that mall. So we’re down at one end of the mall and he’s playing. He’s not amplified. He’s just got a guitar and a couple of other people got some tambourines. We’re doing face painting for kids who walk by. We’re giving free encouraging words. We’re praying for the sick if they want prayer. In other words, we’re just there in the mall. We’re in a small kind of section. We’re not bothering anybody, but literally people would walk into that area and you could see it. It was like, you know, that purpose. You’re walking through and all of a sudden… I mean, literally, I saw people staggering. And then I would see people and all of a sudden they would enter the zone and they got stony face like, “Oh, I don’t like this. Let me get out of here.” We had one woman come into the mall at the other end of the mall. She came… Well, to be honest with you, she came like a man.
She came to get something and leave. You know, she was just… Women shop, men hunt. She came just to get into the store, grab something and out the door of the mall. But she said, “When I walked in, it felt like something grabbed me and pulled me the length of the mall.” She said, “I could not hear your music, but something drew me” when she walked into the circle. That was when we found out she had a physical need. Somebody… A 13-year-old girl, some young girl, prayed for her. She got healed. Then we found out she was unsaved and somebody led her to the Lord. We ought to expect… There was a young man when I was traveling with Randy Clark, a young man named Ben who was being mentored by Randy. 18-year-old kid. Very anointed young man. He lived in St. Louis and when he would go home, you know, he would get with his youth group. We would get together because we were traveling like every two weeks or so, four or two weeks. I mean, for 16 months, we traveled a lot. Now, I’d get back together. “Ben, you know, what was your time at home like and everything?” And he would tell me, he said, “Oh yeah, youth group, we went down to the mall and we went into the store.
“It’s kind of dark. And as we’re walking down the aisles, just praying, not doing anything, the Ouija boards and the tarot cards would fly off the shelves.” They were creating an atmosphere. We ought to expect that the power and the presence of God ought to follow us and be with us everywhere we go. It’s real.
Acts chapter 9. Now, let me take you to this one. Acts chapter 5. We’ll stay in Acts chapter 5. This is where the disciples, you know, they’re in the prison and the angels open the door for them. In Acts chapter 10, verse 3, Cornelius has an angel visit him in a dream and the angel speaks to him. “Your prayers and your alms have come up as a memorial before God.” Acts chapter 12, verse 7, Peter once again is in prison and the chains fall off because an angel has helped him. We ought to expect angelic visitation.
I was so encouraged. You know, Randy came back from Brazil for, I guess it’s four years ago now, having had some of those angelic, he finally got his eyes open and his mind open to the fact that, yeah, the angels, we do need them and they are real. And then y’all went to, I think it was Charlotte, and you had the gold sphere, because y’all wrote about that. I was so encouraged. It doesn’t happen just in Brazil. It happens right here. I loved hearing Randy talk about the angels because he had such a struggle with them. Omar Cabrera had told him at the beginning of the renewal back in ’94 that “you North Americans know a lot about the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit but you know next to nothing about how to call upon the angels for them to help you, and you need to.” And Randy’s attitude was, if we have the Holy Spirit, why do we need angels? But in Revelation 19:10 it says they are fellow workers with us. Now it would be a mistake to ever worship them. That’s what John the Revelator tried to do. Remember, he fell at their feet, at the angel’s feet, and the angel says, “Do not do that. I am a fellow worker with you.”
When we speak with the voice of God they will cooperate with us and they are very useful and helpful to us. Now I remember Gary Oates, you know, he had his eyes open. I don’t know if you know Gary Oates, but he was a pastor here in Tallahassee in Florida and was traveling with Randy Clark in ’03 down in Brazil, had his eyes open, could start seeing in the spirit, and he tells stories. One of his stories is he’s praying for this little old man, he’s down in Brazil, so he doesn’t speak Portuguese, the man doesn’t speak English, he’s got an interpreter, but the man says, “I’ve got a brain tumor.” He begins praying for him, nothing seems to be happening, all of a sudden Gary sees this little angel come up with kind of like a little horn kind of thing, and the angel begins blowing fire into the man’s brain right where the tumor is. And so Gary asked him, “What’s happening with you? What do you feel right now?” He said, “All of a sudden it just feels like fire is being blown on my head.” And the brain tumor shrunk and was no longer there. The man was totally healed. We keep telling the Lord we feel handicapped because we’ve not been able to see the angels as much as we want to. Every once in a while I catch a little movement out of the corner of my eye and there are times when I know in my spirit that they’re there.
Now I’ve been in some meetings and I’ve had some trusted people that I know in the meetings, and I’ve also had some woo-woo people in the meetings. Now for those of you who are not aware, woo-woo is a theological term. It means those who are really weird, who see things, who are way out there, they’re so prophetic and they get prophetic stuff out of everything. I have a sense, Chloe, that you’re one of those woo-woo people.
I mean, I could be… That’s a good thing. That’s a good thing. Actually, I wrote a report recently that said I want to be a woo-woo person. I’m in this meeting and I know that I know that I know I can’t see anything, but I said, “Look, I’m just going to go out on a limb here. There’s an angel kind of right up there on that beam right up there. There’s an angel right on the platform over there and there’s an angel right over there.” After the meeting, and it’s not like anything happened, I kept thinking if I talk about more of these things maybe something will happen, like the sphere in the Charlotte, North Carolina meeting. Well, after the meeting, several people came up to me independently. And one that I know really well. And he said, “When you pointed to that angel back there, he went…” Kind of like, “Yeah, it’s me. I’m here.” I’ve been wanting more and more and more. And I wasn’t seeing it happen in my meetings like I really wanted to. And so a lot of times Carol will get up and she’ll go pray in another room. And my thing is to sit in the bed and just pray. So I got my eyes closed and I’m praying and just praying along.
And all of a sudden, I feel this flick on my cheek. Now, you’ve got to know something about us as we will be an encouragement to you. Carol is very much right-brained. Right-brained people are very intuitive. They’re very sensitive. They tend to be really prophetic. Left-brained people, which is what I am, tend to be very analytical, organized. God can use both. God made both. Okay.
Okay. I will continue. It’s okay. Now, see, some people need to be able to stand in the anointing. And others can’t. But I want you to think about this. You know, sometimes we judge… One of the criticisms of the Toronto Blessing, if you will, this thing that’s been going on for 13 years now… I beg your pardon.
She has to remind me that He’s here. He’s here. See, she’s very sensitive. So are you. I just… I just respond differently. Oh. Now, He’s just here right now. Really powerfully. And you don’t have to look like me to experience His presence. Although, I would say it is fun.
I just want to… Oh. Okay. You just probably need to know this about me. That when the Holy Spirit begins to just… Okay. Now, we all know that, I’ll finish a sentence, don’t worry, we all know that God is everywhere. All the time. Right? Right. But there’s a difference between His omnipresence and His manifest presence. How? Ha… Oh. Well… Hmm. He’s manifesting His presence right now. Very powerfully. And it’s like… Oh. I don’t sail at all, but I do know that… Oh. There’s something about the sails, and catching the wind of the sails. And just positioning the boat to catch the wind of the sails. I know that right now God is speaking and saying, “Catch the wind.”
There was something… Oh. Okay. There’s somebody, and you came in here tonight… No. You came here today… Oh. With a really heavy heart. A really heavy heart. Now, you know what? Sometimes people look at the outward physical manifestations in a person’s body and they just dismiss the whole thing as, “That’s nonsense.” If you think a minute about Pentecost, those people were accused of being drunk.
It wasn’t because they were speaking in tongues. Oh. It was because they looked drunk. Okay. So just get past that. If you have to close your eyes, close your eyes. But I know this. I know there’s a person, and you came here today with your heart so heavy. Just heavy. Just heavy. And the Lord says, right now, “Open your heart up. Open your heart up. Let my spirit blow on your heart. Let my healing power come. Let my comfort come. Oh. Just receive my comfort right now.”
Receive my comfort. Receive my comfort. Oh. Holy Spirit, You come as the Comforter. Holy Spirit, there’s at least one person here tonight that really needs Your comfort. Touch them, Lord. Oh, Lord, the weight. Just the weight of sadness that they’ve carried now. The weight of sadness, Lord, lift it off of them. Lift it off and let them begin just to feel the lightness, the goodness, the joy of Your presence. Holy Spirit, come.
There’s some of you… Oh! You have pain in your physical body right now. You don’t have to. Oh! In His presence… Because, listen, Jesus taught us to pray, “Your kingdom come, God, Your will be done. Here on earth as it is in heaven.” Is there pain in heaven? No. There’s no pain in heaven. There’s no sickness in heaven. Jesus wouldn’t tell us, oh, to pray that if it weren’t possible for that to happen. And He wouldn’t tell us to pray that if He didn’t want it to happen. Oh! So, Holy Spirit, we just ask for heaven to open in this place right now. Lord, let Your Spirit come in power. Let Your angels come. Your mighty healing angels, Lord, even as Bill was talking about, and just begin touching people’s bodies. In fact, I think You’ve probably got some words of knowledge and You just want to move into that. Yeah, we want to go for some healing right now.
A word of knowledge is a supernatural revelation by God of something that cannot be known in the natural. It’s one of the gifts of the Spirit found in 1 Corinthians chapter 12. And if you have one of these conditions, would you just kind of wave at me? It would encourage me. It would encourage others around you. I felt the right arch with pain in it and even later than throbbing. And actually, I felt it on the left foot as well. And I felt it on the inside of the left foot. So if you have that problem in your feet at all, just wave at me. Wave at me. Okay.
And it’s the right… It feels like something down in here. I don’t know if it’s an ovary or the… Is the liver down here? Whatever’s down here. Right down in here is a pain kind of right in here. So on the right side, if that’s you… Now, if you’ve never experienced… There’s right over there and right back there. If you’ve never experienced this before, can I just encourage you to get in on this? Because God doesn’t tease us. He really wants to bring healing. The left thumb. Yes, He does care about… Yes, He cares about cancer and heart disease and those things. But the left thumb, the little things. Thank you. Right there. And the back of the left shoulder. Back here. That’s a couple of you right there. And across the back of the belt line. Right in the back here. Okay. If you responded to one of those words, or now you’d like to respond to one of those words, can I just have you stand up for a minute? Let’s just stand up and I’m going to pray over you. Yeah. Okay. Just stand up. Now, why do I have to stand up? Can’t God just touch me right here? Yes, He can. But the reality is, a lot of times He requires of us that we make a move.
That we put our faith in action. He… The prophet told Naaman to go dip in a particular river, not five times, not six times, not eight times, but seven. And he did. Okay. If it’s appropriate, if you can, put your hand where it hurts. So if you had the shoulder problem, or if you had the thumb, or the lower part here, the whatever this is, or… And if you want to, just sit down and put your hands on your ankles, or whatever. But… And if you can’t get to it, that’s okay. Now, I just want you to close your eyes and relax. And I don’t want you to pray right now. I just want you to receive.
Now, Holy Spirit, come. Lord, we know that You are here in great power. We ask that You would manifest Your power right now. Come, Holy Spirit. I command every bit of pain in the thumb to go. Pain along the belt line in the back to go. Spinal column line up in perfect order in the name of Jesus. I speak to the ankles, to the right and the left, and the inside of the left ankle. I command muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones, soft tissue to come back into perfect and divine order in the name of Jesus. I command that arch to be strengthened, to lift. Every bit of pain go. I break the power of any afflicting spirit and I cancel the assignments of the enemy. I speak to the ovary and to that right side and also to that groin area on the left side, that pain that I got earlier. And I command every bit of pain, go. Now, Lord, let Your power come all over this room, front to back, side to side, all over this room. Let Your power come. More, Lord. Angels of God, we invite you. We recognize that we do not worship you, but we are fellow workers with you. You are fellow workers with us. We bless you and we thank you for your position in this assignment.
Now, more, Lord. Increase. From the top of the head to the tips of the toes. Now, here’s what I want you to do. More than 50% of the time, what we find is people don’t know they’re healed until they actually move. So I want you to, like, move your shoulder, move your ankle, do something maybe you couldn’t do. Move your thumb if that’s what was hurting you. Move your back a little bit. Move around a little bit and just check yourself out. Now, don’t hurt yourself, but just check yourself out. And if you can say to me, “Well, I’m at least 80 to 100% better,” wave at me. Wave at me. Keep waving. Keep waving real high. One, two, three. Over here. I saw some hands over here. Okay. What was wrong with you? No, you right there.
Back left. How are you now? It looks pretty good. Yeah, that’s called healing. What was the matter with you? It looked like back. And how are you now? Yeah. It sounds like healing. Answer. And how do you know that you’re better now? Not irritated. Not cramped up. Wow. Thank You, Lord. Okay. The rest of you who are standing, did you feel the power and the presence of God on you? Yes. Okay. But you’re not 80% yet. So you still need a little bit more. Okay. Now let’s go for this. If you have pain anywhere in your body, right now, if you’ve got pain anywhere in your body and you’d like to get on this prayer, stand up.
And if you can, put your hand there where it hurts. Now just relax. Close your eyes. Holy Spirit, come. Holy Spirit, come in power. I command headaches to go. Neck pain. Go. Right now, in the name of Jesus.
Elbow pain. Forearm pain. Go. Go. I break the power of every afflicting spirit and I cancel the assignments of the enemy. Holy Spirit, come and just fall on this woman right here in the front row in white and then on the woman next to her in sort of orange-ish and the woman next to her in the sort of jacket with a striped shirt. Holy Spirit, come and fall upon them in power right now. Back pain. Go. Back pain. Go. Bam. That pain in the side, go in the name of Jesus. Whoa.
Whoa. Down for the count. Headaches, go. Neck pain, go. All the way in the back of the room, the woman in the red. Every bit of pain, go. Sore throat, go in the name of Jesus. Back pain, go. Neck pain, go in the name of Jesus. Ankles, be knit together. There’s someone here, you were injured like in an accident, car accident, something like that. Years ago, it’s in your feet, and you’ve never been healed properly. There’s also some digestive problems that are being healed right now. Back pain, go. Spinal column. The fifth and the sixth lumbar vertebra come into perfect order right now in the name of Jesus.
There’s been like a sore throat kind of thing, and there’s been something in the jaw that’s up around the left side. I command it to come into order. I command any kind of a deviated septum, go right now so that breathing comes back. Sinus problems, go right now in the name of Jesus.
There’s several of you have pain in your shoulders, like it’s almost locked up. It hurts to even move. We’ve just had story after story after story of people being in meetings just like this. The power of God touching them, where they’ve had rotator cuff problems and injuries, where they could not lift their arms. I’ve got a picture on my computer right now of two women. In fact, it’s in our latest newsletter, which we’ll put out later in the week. And these two women are holding their hands up, just like this gentleman way back here. They’re holding their arms up just like this. They couldn’t move their arms more than this when they started. And then they went to this. I want you to grab the testimony that I just gave and apply it to yourself. He is no respecter of persons.
Revelation 19:10, the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. It’s not just a nice little story that we tell. That when we tell the story, if we can grab a hold of the testimony, the root word of testimony literally means to do again. And so if He’ll do it for one, He’ll do it for another. One of the stories that I wanted to tell you was the woman who had a degenerative disease and her hands were all cramped up. She could not close them and open them like in a fist. And the doctor said, “You’re going to be paralyzed in your hands all the way up to your shoulders.” And so we grab the testimony of that. And I speak right now to that hand. I say, open. Every bit of pain, go in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. Arms. Shoulders. Where there’s been pinched nerves. Right now. In the name of Jesus. I bless the shoulder. Whoa. Power of God just touched her. Thank You, Lord. Wow.
Yeah. There’s several of you. You’ve got pain on the left side of your jaw. It affects your ear. And it affects the jaw. We’ve had a woman with TMJ for a year. Couldn’t sleep more than an hour at night. And it was a spiritual thing. And when she got rid of the spirit of trauma, she could then move her jaw with no pain. She went home and slept 10 hours. Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Lord, for what You’re doing. Okay. Now, I want you to check your body out. One more time. Check your body out. Check your body out. Move it around a little bit. But if you have knee pain, you might need to get out and walk. If you have ankle pain, you might need to get out and actually walk. If you’ve got back pain, you might need to bend down, touch your toes, don’t hurt yourself. But I just want you to check yourself out. And when you’ve checked yourself out, I want you to wave at me if you have received a healing. If you’re at least 80 to 100% better, and keep waving. Okay, we finally… we got two on this side. Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Thank You, Lord. The gentleman right here with the good-looking hairdo, right there.
Yeah. What was the matter with you? Because when I saw you did this. It was your shoulder. Why don’t you stand up? And how locked up was it? How bad was it? You could get it to about there. And now…
Now… Now… Stand back up. Stand back up. This is really important. Do y’all know him? Is he a credible witness? Yeah, so-so. He wouldn’t lie, would he? Wow. Now, the gentleman right in… I’m sorry. Right in front of him with the glasses. What was going on with you?
And how are you now? “I’m doing much better.” Much better. 50, 60, 10, 20, 30, 70? Yeah. Okay. Why don’t you come here? And if I could have you be right behind… Just come here. Did you just get healed? Yeah, shoulder popped back in. Shoulder popped back in. Okay. Stand right there. Look… Yeah, just get right behind him. Okay. Now just relax. No, keep looking at me.
Now, I put him behind you not because I want you to fall down, but because I just want you to feel safe and secure. Forget about them. It’s you and me and Him. What’s your first name? Tony. Tony. Holy Spirit, come on Tony right now. Holy Spirit, come on Tony. Lord, thank You for 70%, but You told us to ask for the more. And we believe You for the more. Now, Holy Spirit, come and touch Tony right now. Muscles, ligaments, tendons. Come back into order. Come back into order. Every bit of pain, go. That afflicting spirit, I break your power. I cancel the assignments of the enemy. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. Like an oil. Like an oil. Stretch your hands toward him, church. This is the church being the church. How are you doing now? How are you doing now?
Okay, now get ready. Get ready. Get ready. Don’t pray right now. Just receive. It’s hard to drink and talk. It’s hard to kiss and talk. At the same time. And He just wants to kiss you. With the kisses of His mouth. With the kisses of His healing touch. Holy Spirit, come and overwhelm Tony. Overwhelm him. More, Lord. Here it comes. Bam.
Yeah, that’s good. Don’t fight it. Just take it. Take it like a man. More, Lord. Marinate him. Marinate him. Pickle him. Thank you, Dr. Tom. I agree for the decisions. Yeah. I do. Okay, here’s what I’d like you to do, Tony. Sit down on the step right there. Van, I don’t know if you’re official, but I… For the moment… Okay. I want you to just lay hands on this shoulder and complete it. I just want you to soak him. Okay. Y’all didn’t get to hear the rest of my stories. I have five minutes. I can… Four minutes. I can do this. I can… I can do this. Yeah. We just had stories. That was good. Now, was that good people got healed?
You need my watch? Yeah, the people do need to go get your… Okay. So anyway, I was talking about being normal Christian. And you get the gist. That makes sense? This is supposed to be normal. We’re supposed to have angelic visitations. We’re supposed to… We’re supposed to see the sick get healed. We’re supposed to be so filled with the presence of God that we just spill. It’s just who we are. Well, we came back from… On a trip to Brazil about a year and a half ago. And we found out that our church, which has since changed its name, it was called Christian Life Center. It’s now called The Mission. We found out that our church had published a list of decisions that they had made. Now, I want to share these with you, not because we think we’re doing anything great. It’s just a journey that we’re on. And when we saw this list, we said, “That’s who we are. That’s our DNA. That’s who we want to be. Wow, the church is really getting it.” And so we’re on this journey right along with our church. And I just want to… I want to share these with you as some food for thought. That you would start to get an idea of who you are, who you’re supposed to be, who you want to be.
And maybe you start to take that back to your church. I think if churches will grab a hold of these things, we’ll have a revolution. We’ve decided that in order to be a people that turn the world upside down, which is Acts 17:6, they would have to make important decisions. And we have chosen to make those decisions. They are decisions that determine what we think, what we believe, and how we live. Here are a few of those decisions. We have made the decision that teaching the gospel without demonstrating the gospel is not enough. Good preaching is not enough. Good doctrine is not enough. And being good people is not enough. We’ve decided that having a good church club is not enough. Good fellowship is not enough. And just being a member of that club is not enough. We’ve decided that having good Bible studies is not enough. That just making it to heaven is not enough. And that knowing about God without truly knowing and experiencing God is not enough. We have decided that having good programs is not enough, that change without transformation is not enough, and that staying the same is not an option. We’ve decided that gifting without character is not enough. We’ve decided that singing songs without worshiping is not enough, and having meetings without God showing up is not enough.
Our function comes out of a relationship first with the Father, and second with each other. We’ve decided that reading about the book of Acts without living the book of Acts is unthinkable. We have decided that hearing about the Holy Spirit without experiencing Him is not enough, that believing in His presence without seeing it manifested in signs and wonders is not enough, believing in healing without seeing people healed is absurd, and believing in deliverance without people being delivered is absolutely ridiculous. We’ve decided to be Holy Spirit-filled, Holy Spirit-led, and Holy Spirit-empowered. Anything less does not work for us. We’ve decided to be the ones telling the stories of God’s power, not the ones just hearing about it. We’ve decided that living saved but not supernatural is living below our privilege and short of what Christ died for. We’ve decided that we’re a battleship, not a cruise ship. An army, not an audience. Special forces, not spectators. Missionaries, not club members. We’ve decided to be infectious instead of innocuous. Contagious instead of quarantined. Deep… deadly instead of benign. We have decided to be radical lovers and outrageous givers. Therefore, making these decisions, we see past events, successes, and failures as stepping stones, not stop signs. We are not limited to the four walls of the building. Our influence is not restricted by location, not even the nations are out of bounds. We’re more concerned about how many we send out into the world than how many we convince to come into the building. This building is meant to be filled and it will be, but it will not be the measure of who we are or the measure of our effectiveness.
We raise up world changers, not tour guides. We train commandos, not committees. We’ve decided that it’s better to fail while reaching for the best God has planned for us than succeed settling for less. We’ve decided that nothing short of His kingdom come, His will be done in our world as it is in heaven. Nothing short of that will satisfy. We’ve decided that we will not be satisfied until our world freaks out and cries, “Those who have turned the world upside down have come here too.” These decisions are not destinations, but rather journeys. Journeys along an ancient path. We have not found some new way, but rather rediscovered the path as old as Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The same path followed by Moses, Joshua, Caleb, John, Paul, George, and Ringo. No, no, no. Through that end, I want to see if you’re listening. It is a path that will impact the world as we live in today. It’s a path of bold faith, believing that what the Scripture teaches is really true and acting on it. Outrageous generosity, giving our life away in order to demonstrate His kingdom, and radical love, loving God with everything in us and our neighbor as ourselves. It is a path of liberty, freedom, and healing. And on this path, one finds significance, purpose, and destiny.
No matter where you are in your life journey, there is room on this path for you. This is not an invitation to inactivity or retirement, but to cease striving, walk in rest, and partner with Christ while turning your world upside down. These are decisions that we’ve made personally that we really want to live out. Not that we’re there by any means. It’s a journey. It’s a journey toward being what I think Christ called us to be, normal Christians. And it doesn’t look the same as what the church portrays, but we’re going to have a revolution. And we’re going to change the church, one by one. Amen? Amen. Now, I want to turn it over, and then we will come back and do some ministry.
