Norman Grubb retells how Lucifer, the light bearing angel, chose to rule himself rather than express God’s light. Every person faces that same choice, he argues, between self-loving and self-giving love. He adds that a lying God is impossible, since a liar always serves only himself, and that God therefore remains, by his own free choice, purely a giver.
