God counts us worthy of his love before we have earned any of it, and Tommy Tyson calls that “unmerited favor.” He tells how his sister Merle felt too undeserving to ask for her small daughter’s healing from cancer, so he prayed in Jesus’ name instead and the child recovered. That love, he adds, leaves each person in the movement free to respond in their own way.
