Agnes Sanford tells how she and a friend prayed a paralyzed parakeet named Mrs. Birdie back onto her perch to sing again. She uses the story, at the 1965 Maine Acadia CFO, to show what selfishness and dishonesty do to the promise that our prayers will be done.
