Double-Fisted With His Peace and Faithfulness

Evelyn Carter Spencer retraces her childhood habit of talking to God the way she talked to her own father. She also describes the vision at her bedside in which she turned from a silent figure in black to choose Jesus. At the 1975 Midwinter Advance CFO, she closes by leading campers to claim, hand over hand, the peace and faithfulness Jesus promised, calling them “double fisted believers.”
