Agnes Sanford recalls the one prayer group she resolved never to address again. Its members named only comfortable relatives, and they left out a ministerial student who was dying that same day. She carried the lesson into the prayer clinic she led at this winter retreat.
At a winter prayer retreat, Agnes Sanford describes how she healed a young minister who was so afraid in the pulpit that his knees knocked, and his message fell apart. She asked him two questions about his boyhood. Then she prayed instead for the frightened fourteen-year-old still living inside him.
