Tick Watson builds a morning talk on happiness for the Ohio CFO in 1968. He draws on Emerson, and on a doctor who tells a nervous patient he needs “a shot in the spirit” rather than a shot in the arm. He closes by dedicating a baby camper, Todd, to Jesus.
Tick Watson gives his testimony at an evening communion service, at the 1968 Ohio CFO. As a boy he was told he would never walk, and his father answered that God still wanted him useful. He tells of the pastor, the college, and the wife who carried him into a lifetime of itinerant preaching.
At the 1971 Nova Scotia CFO, Tick Watson leads the singing of “Brighten the Corner Where You Are.” He then illustrates gratitude and humor with a windshield note reading “expect a miracle.” He also tells of a woman, paralyzed eleven years, who blesses passersby she sees only in a mirror.

He then tells the 1971 Nova Scotia CFO of a boy with a withered leg who is healed at a cathedral altar. Of the walk back down the aisle the boy says, “it doesn’t matter anymore,” once Jesus has touched him.
Tick Watson traces how prayer groups meeting in homes, factories, and small-town offices are multiplying across the movement. He closes with a bedridden, elderly woman who blesses everyone she hears pass her window. She watches their reflection in a mirror hung from her ceiling.
At the New Hampshire Winni CFO in 1973, Tick Watson defines enthusiasm as being completely filled with God. He traces it through a broken leg in Gold Beach, Oregon that turned his hospital room into a room of prayer, a foundry crucible that will not crack where another crumbles, and Vince Lombardi turning the Green Bay Packers around. Miss Nobody, he says, is a great big somebody.
