At the Tennessee CFO in 1971, Wendell Wallace teaches on the nine gifts of the Spirit from 1 Corinthians 12. Most believers, he warns, keep their gifts hidden and unused. He then tells how his interracial Portland congregation once lined up before a mob and quoted “greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Facing the mob down that way turned back a threatened race riot.
