Tommy Tyson maps four kinds of prayer he has lived out in the camps: the mercy cry, thanksgiving, intercession, and what he calls “the yearning of the soul praying.” He tells of a policeman whose name sat on a church prayer room blackboard. The man roared up on his motorcycle and begged them to take it off, because he wanted to be saved.
