The Mother Who Could Not Find the Seed

We are all, if we are in the church at all, we are all baptized into one body by the one Spirit. That’s not the baptism of the Holy Spirit, but when you believe in the Lord and give yourself over to Him, He puts you in His church. You may join the Presbyterians afterwards, or join the Baptists, and may forget your real membership, and get off on the tangent of an artificial membership. But you remember, as soon as you yield yourself to the Divine Spirit and her place in the body of Christ where you belong. And so it’s been well said, there are three baptisms. The baptism in water, where the minister does the baptizing and uses water. And then the baptism whereby the Spirit baptizes you into the body of Christ and places you where you belong. And then there’s this baptism of glory that’s administered by the glorified Jesus, and which could not be administered until He Himself was glorified, went into the glory world, received this promised gift of the Spirit with power to share it. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Somebody asked me in Michigan some years ago what church I belonged to. I told them, if I was not mistaken, I belonged to the only one there was.
Hallelujah. And the other Christians evidently didn’t have a form of joining the church like we do. They saw a fellow that had what they had and they gave him the right hand of fellowship. And wherever they met together was the church. The church in such a person’s house. Hallelujah. If we’re yielding to the Lord tonight, the session of the church, you’re in Charlie’s place. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. That’s the church. Have Thy way, Lord.
I feel rather impressed to move a little in the direction of acquiring the emphasis that the Holy Spirit puts upon Jesus. You’ll find that full salvation really means deliverance from everything unlike Jesus, and brought to His likeness and brought to partnership with Him in making all things like Him. That’s what full salvation is. You have a partial salvation when you first believe in Him. He believes it has everlasting life. But Jesus makes reference later on near the end of His ministry to this full salvation. When He says, “Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that endureth to the end is going to be saved.” That’s a going to be salvation. Hallelujah. So as an Englishman has put it, anyone who’s in the process of salvation is saved, being saved, and to be saved all at the same time. And St. Paul, referring to this full salvation, says, “Our salvation is nearer than when we stocked it on this.” So the fullness of salvation will be entire deliverance from all of our negatives. And we’ll be brought to the throne, the glory, the love, and everything of Jesus Christ. And what’s coming after that is going to be so good. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Better get ready to enjoy it. We do love You, Lord.
Well, now, taking in this large sense, nobody can save you beyond where they save themselves. Well, Buddha could carry you as far as he’s gone. George Fox should carry you as far as he’s gone. Hallelujah. But nobody except Jesus has gone as far as we want to go. For we’ll never be satisfied short of being like the glorified Jesus. We’ll never be satisfied as long as we’re subject to evil, as long as we’re subject to disease, as long as we’re subject to death, as long as we’re subject to old age. Hallelujah. Nobody can ever enjoy that. Hallelujah. You may get desperate out of it, but you don’t enjoy it. Hallelujah. You’re never going to be satisfied until you’re awake in the likeness of Jesus Christ. And that means His bodily likeness. So full salvation is going to include the body as well as the soul. People brag on death a whole lot, but they’re not candidates for it until they have to take it. We do love You, Lord. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And St. Paul don’t say that death is a friend. St. Paul says it’s an enemy. And the last enemy of all to be destroyed will be death. And after death has been destroyed, of course all that leads up to death has been destroyed, then Jesus Christ will turn the kingdom back to God the Father, that God the Father may be all in all.
But Jesus Christ is represented in the Bible as being the creator of the universe. “Without Him was not anything made that was made.” God made it, but He made it through Jesus Christ. It’s something like this, to use Norman Grubb’s phrase. When you bring forth anything, you first have the idea of it. And then you have that idea put in a definite form. If a lady is going to get a new dress, she has the idea of it, then she gets the pattern for the making of the dress. But she don’t wear the idea of the dress, and she don’t wear the pattern. She wears the dress. Hallelujah. And when a young man wants to get married, he’s wife conscious, but he’s not satisfied with wife conscious, he wants a wife.
And Noah, it’s made known to Noah, it’s going to be a side of water. So much water you can’t swim it. So you’ve got to have a boat. And he has given instructions, the kind of a boat to build. He goes out preaching that he’s coming. Hallelujah. And working on the boat. So he is ark conscious. He is ark conscious and flood conscious. Hallelujah. But if he just remained in flood consciousness, in ark consciousness, he never got ready for it. He’d have drowned just the same as other folks, if he hadn’t had his name but ark consciousness. And so our whole modern attitude that you’ve got to have Christ consciousness, hallelujah, the Christ consciousness should lead you to the Christ. You have to have the Christ Himself. The word has to be made flesh. The ideal has to be actualized. And there’s no salvation in your abstract terms. Hallelujah, hallelujah. And you know in life that you’ve got to go to the reality. Of course I wouldn’t have any honey consciousness unless I’d had a little. Hallelujah. But honey consciousness is no substitute for honey. Hallelujah, hallelujah. And this full salvation…
Hasn’t come in any other individual except Jesus. Everybody that has something can help you. Hallelujah. But there’s nobody that’s appeared can help you as much as you want to be helped. Hallelujah. And it don’t matter what religious teacher you take or system you may give yourself over to. Even the leaders of all of these, if they ever make the grade, they’ll have to unite with the one who has made the grade. The colored man in the college where I taught, he is a perfect genius for…
For getting good ideas that were not in the original meaning at all. He said the reason we call the Old Testament the Old Testament and the New Testament the New Testament was… in the Old Testament there’s nobody that made that stood the test. But in the New Testament they found the fellow that stood the test. Hallelujah.
Hallelujah. And so if we’re looking for full salvation, and we are looking for salvation, full salvation, all of our roundabout efforts may be preparing us. We know where not to live. Just as… Hallelujah. It said that Edison, we used to work on bringing… getting the air out of these bulbs so they wouldn’t burn out. It formed 1100 experiments, I believe, on it. And none of them had worked. And someone said, “Well, you’ve just lost that much.” “No, I haven’t lost at all. I found out 1100 ways. You can’t do it.”
We do love You, Lord. Hallelujah. And all of our roundabout experimenting is primarily to find out this is not the way. And so, if I’m looking for deliverance from sin, I’m looking for deliverance from death, I’m looking for deliverance from devils, I’m looking for deliverance from disease, I’m looking deliverance from old age and ugliness. Hallelujah. I know that’s great faith that they can be cured. But all things are possible to God. There’s no one that gives you the hope of carrying you to full attainment and full deliverance except Jesus. Hallelujah. They just don’t have the goods. Hallelujah.
Buddha among the ancients was more like Jesus in compassion than anyone else we know of. But he didn’t have power to raise the dead. Hallelujah. And in a very generous book towards him by Max Müller, the great Oxford scholar, he gives the instance of the mother wanting her child raised from the dead. And she felt Buddha was good enough to do it. And Buddha knew he didn’t have the power. He wanted to let her down as easily as he could. He told her to go and get a certain seed. But it’ll have to be from a home where there never been a dead. And she don’t find any homes that kind. And she says, “Well, my lot is a common lot.” He gave her consolation. And about all anybody else can do is to give you consolation and philosophical explanation. Jesus is the only one that has the goods and can deliver the goods to the part that the human soul cries out for. And the human soul cries out for a sinless, diseaseless, and a deathless existence. An existence that has dominion over the world, the flesh, hell, grave, old age, devils and everything. Hallelujah. And Jesus not only has this limitless love that caused Him to go all the way of love. Hallelujah.
For the redemption of the rest of us. He not only has that, but He has a power that no one else has displayed. Hallelujah. He could speak to a storm and there is a great calm. And I tell you, in a country where tornado is increasing, that’s a very desirable power. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
The disciples were scared and headed to death in a storm. In one of their little boats. And He just sleep in there. Hallelujah. And having such a good time. And they think He don’t care about their faith. Hallelujah. He just rebukes the winds and there is a great calm. He said, what kind of a man is He anyhow? He speaks to the winds and the waves. They are bad. He has brought up perfect dominion over everything. Except the human will. Which is man’s freedom. Hallelujah. And you and I are never going to be satisfied as long as we are subject to this thing or that thing. We won’t be satisfied until we come to a beneficent dominion. Hallelujah. Over old age. Over death. Hell. Grave. Hallelujah. Devils. Hallelujah. And such a like. There’s no… Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Thank God for all wise men. All men who had a good teaching. A good example. And nearly everybody has a good teaching. Jesus said, “Well, you do like the Pharisees tell you to do, but don’t do like they do.” Hallelujah. They preach it, but they don’t live it. Hallelujah. And one of the compliments paid Jesus was, when He’s talking to those boys that is moving away from the scene of the resurrection, going out in the country.
They’d heard that certain women had believed that He was raised from the dead, but women like to believe almost anything. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. But we don’t take any stock in that. If we’d take any stock, we’d be looking into it. So we’re walking away from it. And He wants to know why they’re so sad. And they say, “Well, you must be a stranger in these parts. Must be a regular ignoramus around here.” Hallelujah. “This fellow Jesus of Nazareth has created a great deal of sensation and talk. He did wonderful things. We had the hope at one time that He might be the one we’re looking for. But they killed Him.” Hallelujah. Hallelujah. “While certain women believe they’ve seen Him.” Hallelujah. “We’re not taking any stock in it.” Hallelujah. And they said this fellow Jesus was a man that is mighty in deed and in word, putting the deed before the word. Moses had said he is mighty in word and deed. He is a poor talker. He had to have somebody to talk for him. But yet his talk was a way ahead of what he did.
Hallelujah. For this fellow Jesus. Hallelujah. While He’s speaking, never a man’s faith. He did it way beyond what anybody ever did. Hallelujah. And if you just take it from a common sense standpoint, and connect with that this law, that whoever you link up with, whosever disciple you become. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You get that fellow’s reward. Hallelujah. If you receive a true prophet, as a true prophet, you get a true prophet’s reward. If you receive a false prophet, he goes in the ditch, and you hang on to him, you go in the ditch too. Hallelujah. I suppose Goebbels was the most faithful disciple that Hitler had. Hallelujah. Most of the rest of them began to back off. But Goebbels went with him, apparently, until the end. Well, he suffered Hitler’s fate, didn’t he? Anyone who went with Hitler to the end suffered his fate. Hallelujah. Anyone who links up with anybody and goes all the way, whether their fate be a heavenly fate, or whether their fate be a tragic fate, you get the fate or the destiny of the one you link up with. Hallelujah. Well, I just… Hallelujah. There’s nobody I want to. I get help from all of them. There’s nobody I want to be like. When they go in the grave, I’m not a candidate to go with them there.
Hallelujah. When they failed to make the grade, I’m just… Hallelujah. Thank God for their memory and everything of the kind. Hallelujah. But I’m not talking about them having graduated either. Hallelujah. I’m just saying that I wish he’d have made the grade. Hallelujah. And thank God there’s a resurrection provided that if he hadn’t made the grade on this plane… Hallelujah. He can get it by the resurrection. Hallelujah. And he may have a very good time between his going and resurrection. I rather think that he’ll be looking forward to resurrection day greater and more than you are looking forward to going where he went. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! The Holy Spirit came upon and He had me in a marvelous And this unfoldment, a revelation. And the last thing that I wrote down, and the power struck when we wrote it down, heaven is a sincerely anchor that we claim to be to go to heaven. But most of us, Hallelujah to do it about everything we can to keep from going just yet. Hallelujah.
Don’t matter what you say at funerals. That’s not the way you act before the funeral. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! As most of you know, Augustine prayed to the Lord to deliver him from his lust, but he said don’t be in too big a hurry back. Don’t do it just yet. Miss Slappy wrote a book some years ago, Thy Kingdom Come, but don’t come too quickly.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! No, a wonderful provision is made that those who get started in this heavenly way, and have not… their bodies have not been brought to the likeness of Jesus Christ, and you’re not going to have full salvation until you have His spirit, until you have His love. Hallelujah! To have His dominion. Hallelujah! And you have His victory over death. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Thank God you’re on the way. If you missed the grade. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Fall in the hand of an undertaker. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! And don’t end it. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah. But there will be some, St. Paul says, that never fall asleep at all. Moffatt translates that, “I’m telling you secret truth, not everybody’s going to die.” Hallelujah, that’s a good translation of it. Hallelujah. And so Jesus Christ came to abolish death as well as to abolish all that causes death. He came to abolish every enemy. And He came to bring into manifestation real sons of God. And the real son of God is all love and nothing but love. Hallelujah. Goodwill is nothing but goodwill. He’s good sense and nothing but good sense. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. The purpose is that Jesus Christ emerges in time as bringing forth an immortal body.
Plato, representing the Greek world, as Royce of Harvard once said in an address on immortality in Boston, that he advanced all the arguments that had ever been made for the immortality of the soul, except the resurrection of Jesus Christ. That’s not an argument. That’s a proof of it. But it’s more than a proof of the immortality of the soul. It’s a proof of the immortality of His body. And when this is the completed universe, when God’s will is finished concerning it, and we move on to the absolute ultimate. Hallelujah. The external universe, the new heaven and the new earth, the visibility and the tangibility and the objectivity of the universe will be just as perfect as God Himself. Hallelujah.
Hallelujah. God would never… Hallelujah. You wouldn’t want to start out, Hallelujah, and make something and be a disgrace to you. Hallelujah. Never think of anything of that kind. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And God conceived of a universe as good and very good. So good is very good. Hallelujah. And Jesus Christ is the creator of this universe, and He’s the redeemer of this universe. Hallelujah. And He’ll become increasingly significant and prominent as people come to enlightenment. And so the first reason, why the emphasis upon Jesus, He’s the only one who’s made the grade. Hallelujah. He’s the only one that has the goods. Hallelujah. He’s the only one that’s brought it forth. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
And you, from a natural standpoint, if you’re growing wheat, if you get a head of wheat that’s the way ahead of all other wheat, you wouldn’t think of eating. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You plant it. Hallelujah. And you’re not going to plant inferior something if you can plant a superior something, aren’t you? Well, God has as much sense as you have. Hallelujah along any line. Hallelujah. And what little sense you’ve got, you got it from God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And God didn’t get His from you. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And so just as you take the best for reproduction. God, hallelujah, hallelujah, in taking people like we are and making them like they should be, hallelujah, hallelujah, is not using Moses, hallelujah, or Buddha for reproduction purposes. He has uses in that thumb, but not for reproduction. Hallelujah. He’s using Jesus for reproduction. Hallelujah. Well, who is He then? I think this will help you. He’s God. In human form, there’s come the perfect manifestation and perfect triumph and perfect availability.
You see, God’s everywhere, but He’s in the cloud. Emerson, before Darwin wrote his work on the origin of the species, he has this evolutionary sense. He says that the cloud is dreaming of what it’s going to do when it becomes a man. But as I said there in his tomes, according to the law of identification, the cloud may finally arrive, but for practical purposes now, man would be very foolish to identify himself with a cloud that has the privilege to identify himself with Jesus. Hallelujah. Anybody that’s utterly stupid, having the privilege of identifying himself with Jesus, and by identifying himself with Jesus, to become like Jesus, to identify himself with Buddha, to identify himself with Buddha, if he knows Jesus, and only come to the point of becoming like Buddha. Hallelujah. Don’t you see? Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And God, you see, doing a pretty good job everywhere. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Even before He’s come into objective manifestation, and has someone with healing hands, and healing words, and everything of the kind, He heals most of your diseases. Every cold you ever had except this one, He’s healed.
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. A Harvard professor said some time ago, God is so healing in this universal sense that it’s nearly impossible. Hallelujah. If you’ll have the right kind of food, and think good thoughts and all, it’s nearly impossible to stay sick. Hallelujah.
And this man at Duke University, he’s getting out the magazine on religion and health. He writes from that angle. He’s a chaplain there at Duke. He was a chaplain at Northwestern, professor there. A chaplain, he’s there at Duke. He teaches courses. I have an idea, when he goes to see a patient, he’s just telling them how healing God is, how loving God is. What wonderful things. You just give God a chance at you, you’ll be surprised what He can do. But on this universal level, where God don’t have help, Hallelujah. He doesn’t have to do the whole thing Himself. Hallelujah. Our cancers are not healing much, are they? A whole lot of things that God don’t seem to be able to do Himself. Except if He gets somebody to work through, that makes a partnership, so God can work on a higher level than He works on the universal level. You’d see that as one.
And God can work on the level of Jesus Christ, with such a partner as Jesus Christ. A way beyond where I can work anywhere else. Well, there’s the same God everywhere, but… And therefore, if I’m going to have God in His highest achievement, God’s highest achievement is nowhere except in Jesus. If God hadn’t brought forth Jesus, He’d don’t have much to show for us. Hallelujah.
The greatness and the glory of God’s purpose is only revealed. History has no particular meaning, except in terms of Jesus. It’s all glorious in the light of Jesus. And so, Jesus has not only brought forth… Not brought forth the perfect soul in that, but He’s brought forth the perfect body. Peter’s mighty careful in that prayer of Pentecost in explaining what’s happened. This fellow couldn’t see corruption. There’s nothing corrupt in Him. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He didn’t have to die. No man takes my life from Him. Half power laid down, half power to pick it up again. This authority I received from my Father. Well, I could call for just a great company of angels. They take me to heaven. This is a voluntary death. Hallelujah. The devil seems to be enforcing it, but if he had more sense, he wouldn’t. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He’d never go down that way. He would have done it, would he? No, no. Last thing he’d have done. Hallelujah.
And so, if you want to get God at His high perfection, His high reaches of attainment, you’ll go to Jesus to see God. You don’t see Him in His high reaches anywhere else, do you? He looks like He’s pretty people in many places. And then, hallelujah. Elijah had a good healer power, but hallelujah. But God had to stand for it. It was the best He had, but He’s not very loving power in many instances. Hallelujah. And then, what about the eternal Christ?
You see so much of the Christ manifested in Plato and Socrates. The heathens, to the degree they’ve walked in the Christ’s life, have a great deal of moral and spiritual life. Socrates had so much, a second generation Christian said, “He is a Christian too, born out of due time.” He just came ahead of time. Have Thy way, Lord, have Thy way, have Thy way. Have Thy way, have Thy way. They have some of the Christ.
But in Jesus Christ, in the incarnation, the crucifixion, the resurrection, you have the eternal Christ in a concretion and a victory and a glory, a way ahead of what He’s been anywhere else. So we not only have the Father in highest achievement availability, but you have the eternal Christ in successful incarnation, self-offering, resurrection, glorification, hallelujah, receiving the promised gift of the Holy Spirit and all. So if you want to get at the Christ, hallelujah, the Christ of the victory, the Christ of glory and the Christ of perfect love, if you want to get at Him, you won’t go anywhere else except to Jesus. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Oh, hallelujah, hallelujah. And then we’re looking for man. Hallelujah. Yet everybody else is just a kind of a hint of the man except Jesus. Hallelujah. As Emerson said, you look over men, one will have a pretty good leg and another one will have, hallelujah, pretty good. The blacksmith will have a pretty good arm. Hallelujah. But you haven’t seen any real man. Hallelujah. Except as you see Jesus. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So God, the eternal Christ, and man have come to flower it out in perfection and manifested in perfection in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah. There’s nothing else you can compare with Him. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Though all men have the Christ’s light. And… Glory to Thy name. Glory to Thy name. And… God has two wonderful ways of expressing His wisdom and His love. His wisdom is wonderfully expressed in the law of life that whatever measure you mete is going to be measured back to you. That whatever you sow, you’re going to reap again. Hallelujah. And if you have any good sense, you’ll stop sowing anything you don’t want to reap. You’ll stop giving anybody anything you wouldn’t like to get yourself. Hallelujah. If you’ve got superior sense, you’ll go to giving things you’d like to get. Hallelujah. And they’ll come back to you, good measure, pressed down and running over. And if you’ve reached a place where you don’t want to get any hell, you’d better stop giving it. Hallelujah. If you’ve reached a place where you’d like to have heaven and only heaven, why just go to give it heaven and only heaven? Hallelujah. And I don’t believe you’re ever going to get to heaven until you like heaven well enough to stop giving anything but heaven to anybody. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! I don’t know if anybody’s ever going to get into heaven that wants anybody else to go to hell or not. Hallelujah! That’s a wonderful law, isn’t it? The law I don’t have to force you to do by me. I’ve got good sense I won’t force you to anything.
I’ll just go to giving you what I’d like to get. Hallelujah! And I can be assured it will be good measure, press down and run over. It looks like for that much sense, it’s so apparent, hallelujah, that God might have stopped. Hallelujah! And we’d have had a pretty good God anyhow. Hallelujah! But God is so good that if He can’t get us that way, hallelujah, we’re soon to get us that way, hallelujah, He’s provided that if we believe in someone who is this thing and does this thing, He’ll give us a new birth of the seed of this one. Hallelujah! And we’ll make it this way. Hallelujah! The prodigal son violated good law and good sense. He took what belonged to him and spent it in all of his potential, as his sister said, in rottenness living. Hallelujah!
He got to be in great need and great want. Then he wakes up and comes to himself. Hallelujah! Here’s the dark explaining. He said, he pawned his overcoat. Hallelujah! Then he pawned his coat. Then he pawned his vest. And then he pawned his shirt. Then his undershirt. Then he came to his self.
Well, now, he couldn’t have been brought in on the idea of being saved on the basis of getting what he’d been given. Well, lady, could he? So there’d have to be a more generous provision for getting him in. Hallelujah! And what is the provision? He has a very loving dad. Hallelujah! Although the son’s got everything that belongs to him in his inheritance. Hallelujah! And spent it in rottenness living. Hallelujah!
Dad nevertheless loves him so much. And he stayed at home and hasn’t indulged and has prospered. And he’s just glad to give all he’s got and the best he’s got. Hallelujah! This reprobate son of his! Hallelujah! Well, now, that’s great! And so we can get him that way! Hallelujah! Don’t matter how foolish you are. Don’t matter how nasty you are. Hallelujah! How sick you are. Hallelujah! God has provision for you that way! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! He loves you so much. He’s always ready to give you another chance. Hallelujah. I read this interesting thing at Atlantic Monthly some years ago. There’s a man speaking in New York, spouting out his agnosticism and infidelity. Why, he says, nobody believes in Jonah any longer. A scholar at the Graduate University of Virginia says, I believe in Jonah. Well, he got the attention of the audience. He says, Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Nineveh was in an awful shape and God gave him another chance. And Noah got in the way of the better. God in an awful fix and God gave him another chance. Hallelujah. How many of you believe in a God of another chance? Everybody held up their hands. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And the George has said, these ways that God saves you and heals you. They’re not things against you, but they’re things if He can’t get you one way, He’s going to try to get you another way. Hallelujah.
Just go to any lengths to get you. That’s it. Hallelujah. And the son could have stayed at home if he wanted to. Hallelujah. And he could have had a whole raft of fatted calves. He could have been running down the road with Dad. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Running on an independent hook. Hallelujah. And the same business. Hallelujah. And he could have run down to welcome them in. Hallelujah. But the fellow who’s utterly failed and gone foolish and gone bad. Hallelujah. He’s so greatly loved. Where love dominates everything I have if I had love enough will be for the person who needs it more than I need it. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And in the early church where love rose to a high tide. Hallelujah. Nobody regarded what he had as his own. Hallelujah. They had everything in common. And that’s real communism. A voluntary communism that had no violence in it. Motivated by love. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So if anybody needs what you have more than you need it. Just come and have it. Hallelujah. And I’d be a robber if I kept you from having it. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And so we not only have this perfect law by which a man by practice may build, get what he’d like to receive. But we also have this marvelous provision of grace that God has held out to it.
That it don’t matter if you played the fool. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You’ve gone to the bottom. Hallelujah. Even your own brother. Hallelujah. Mom is dead. Hallelujah. Live home when you come home. Hallelujah. And gets mad because dad goes wild over you. Hallelujah. Don’t matter. Hallelujah. Hallelujah! It don’t matter how low down you’ve gone. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Provision is made. If you link yourself up with… if you come back to the Father who has these things, you’ll get it. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! And if you go to Jesus Christ, who is dominion and victory and glory and perfect everything, if you go to Him, His perfect everything is yours. Hallelujah! You violated every law of perfection. Hallelujah! But yet you’re so greatly loved. Hallelujah! If you link up with Jesus Christ, He’ll give you a new birth. Hallelujah! And when Jesus Christ puts His seed within you, and you are the sower for this new seed. Hallelujah! When this new seed comes to full maturity, it’s going to be like Jesus. Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
A whole lot of experience to go through with to come to that likeness. But you’re just about ruined for everything else. Hallelujah! You get this thing. Hallelujah! The African convert said, “Jesus condemned him to become a saint. There’s nothing left for him to do.” Hallelujah! And you will run away from home all you want to, but you don’t find away from what you’re looking for. You’ll find back at home what you’re looking for. Hallelujah! Some people have sense enough to find it out sooner than others. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! And as an English Quaker, by the name of Jones put it, by an experience of both good and evil, you learn that good is best. By an experience of being at home and away from home, you learn how much better it is at home. He never polishes you stay at home. Hallelujah! But the devil is a good help instead. He makes it hot for you when you get away. Hallelujah! And Dad makes it so sweet for you when you come home. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! The devil is kicking you from behind and the Lord is drawing you in front. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! And most of us show a great many more marks of the kicking than we do pressing against heavenly yoke. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! So, Jesus, this is the revelation in life of the fulfillment of the perfect law. Of giving what you’d like to receive. Hallelujah! He’s obeyed the law, hasn’t He?
And He becomes the messenger. And He becomes the means of this other side of the immeasurable grace. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Oh, there’s just all kinds. But here’s this interesting thing. In this breaking in of grace, the St. Paul saw, in this breaking in of grace, you haven’t abolished the law, but you fulfilled it. What the law could not do, because of the sinfulness of man. And that tendency has to be telling him not to do anything, that’s everything he wants to do.
To the grocery store, not to come to the baseball game. Hallelujah! You seem to be, hallelujah, partly responsible for him coming. Hallelujah! I never was brought up to swear. But my mother was, she was a preacher. Hardshell Baptist, hallelujah! She fed the preachers. And I’ve known them just to camp around the trees. They just to show where they’d come. Hallelujah! And I saw that they enjoyed fried chicken. And telling jokes much better than preaching. They cried when they preached. But they laughed. Hallelujah! They were eating fried chicken. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! And my papa was just almost goodness and honesty itself. He’d lost his health in the war between the North and the South, but worked hard anyhow. And he had a young brother who was wild, but just pure gold. And when he’d get any mason, we had a hard job. He’d live his work and come and help us. But he would swear a little. And my older, oldest brother, Charlie, five years and a little older than me, he was in the street enough to swear a little and to let mother hear. And I never did see mother on such a rampage as she was. And I listened in to it. Well, I said to myself, I never carried out, there must be a side of fun in that, to ever stir mother like that.
And I’m going to get out alone sometime and just swear all I want to find out the fun of this day. We do love You, though. Hallelujah! And, so, God has worked this thing out that man is free, and yet, He’s given a great ease of liberty when you’re not given enough liberty to hang himself. Hallelujah!
And the devil don’t mean to help in this thing. But, if you turn to the Lord, He’s a big help, too. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Everything works together for your good. When you fall in line with the divine purpose. As long as you continue in the evil, the evil will ruin, you can stay in it. But as long as you turn to the Lord for deliverance, the worse fits you’re in, the better testimony you have. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Not many of us can stand up in the testimony and attract much attention when George is around. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! He’s got a real testimony! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! He’s been somewhere! He’s come from somewhere! Hallelujah!
Have Thy way, Lord! Have Thy way, Lord! I don’t know how lazy it is, but here I think you see in these… How it is, this great love that God has for you, when you find out He’s not forcing you to keep the law or anything, and He loves you so well, you can’t sin against love. Hallelujah. And what the law of punishment, hallelujah, has in it, has no power in comparison with the power of love. And this grace that comes to your rescue also makes you able to obey God. Hallelujah. If God loves you that much, you fall in line and become loving too. And so the righteousness of the law, the love purpose of the law, is fulfilled in you too, when you walk no longer after the old order of life, but you walk after the Spirit. Hallelujah. And in the same way, here we have this law of karma. The law of soul, which is such a beautiful law, if you take it to the right side. Hallelujah. Well, this law of atonement that’s come in here, it looks like at first that atonement is rejoicing against karma, don’t it? Hallelujah. But at the same time, hallelujah, it’s fulfilling karma. Hallelujah. And all of us, through the grace of God and the love of God and the atonement of Jesus Christ, somewhere in the universe, as we move on, we’ll be glad to do the will of God. Hallelujah.
We wouldn’t do it through fear and we wouldn’t do it through punishment. Hallelujah. But we will do it through love. Hallelujah. And so, hallelujah. And so, law is not defeated by this unspeakable purpose of love. But law is fulfilled. It’s the only way you’ll ever get the law fulfilled. Hallelujah. And that’s what St. Paul is trying to say. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. They accuse St. Paul of saying that he advised people to do a little more sinning so they’ll have a better testimony. Hallelujah. But St. Paul said, anyone who’d do that, their damnation would be just. Hallelujah. Now there are new ones here. If I can do it in just a few minutes, make the outline. And the things you can do, the steps that you can call in line and become partners with God and Jesus in accomplishing the high purpose concerning you and all the rest of them. The first thing is He’s put the true life within you, the Christ life. And you can dedicate yourself to walking all the life that you have and all the life that’s given to you on the way. And when you make that dedication, you feel the heavenly presence of the heavenly fire. Hallelujah. Methodists called it holiness. Hallelujah. But then they hung on to it. They had it after they got over the dedication and they didn’t have it.
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. If I may give again, Son of the Saint, St. Jesus taught him in Ephesians that we’re like a lump of coal. We’re black. And you can’t wash the black out of it. But if you get it on fire, the black don’t show anymore. Hallelujah. But if you let the coal stop burning, out it goes black again. Hallelujah. And a Christian is meant to be… A sensible person is meant to be like the burning bush. You’re always burning. But never consumed. And before the kingdom of heaven comes in mighty power, we’ve got to see that we’ve got to be continuously and progressively dedicating to the highest we know it. Hallelujah. And that’ll keep us clean. That’ll keep us alive. That’ll keep us from going black. That’s your first law. Your second law is to link up with the highest person and the highest cause. And certainly the highest person we know anything about is Jesus. And if there’s been anyone else beyond Him, I think we’d have heard of Him. Jesus would have told us about Him anyhow. And Jesus has been his father. Well, hallelujah. Hallelujah. And when you link up with Him, receive Him, or believe on His name, you get the new birth. And the fullness of that birth, when it’s brought to its completion, will be to make you like Jesus.
Hallelujah. Hallelujah. An important step here is that, in it, the next one I should say, hallelujah, that you should accept the death of Jesus Christ as being your death. And accept His resurrection as yours. And say that your high privilege now is to abide in heavenly places on the way to heaven. Hallelujah. His old sister said, have so much heaven on the way to heaven. Hallelujah. You’ll be saying that if they don’t let you in heaven, you’re going to celebrate and run all around heaven, telling them how good it takes them at the trip. Hallelujah.
And your next step is to receive the promised gift of power and glory and wonder that Jesus Christ went into heaven. They were both receiving the gift. And He couldn’t give that gift on the plane of the incarnation. He couldn’t give it on the plane of the resurrection. He could only give it on the plane of the glorification. He could raise the dead and He could give the new birth. All these things. Hallelujah. On the lower plane. But He couldn’t give this thing that happened at Pentecost. And if it’s so important for Him to go away to receive this, that He might share it with us. It’s infinitely important that we should receive. Hallelujah. What He’s paid such a price to give to us, isn’t it? And our Christianity is dead, to the degree that it’s dead, because we’re trying to worship Jesus where He used to be, instead of going with Him where He now is. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Our Catholic friends have a perfect genius to worship Him on that wooden cross. Well, He’s not there any longer. Thank God He’s been there. But thank God He didn’t stay. Hallelujah. He’s not in that tomb any longer. Hallelujah. He doesn’t need to live a tomb life anymore. He’s not in that manger any longer.
Hallelujah. Where is He? He’s omnipresent. He’s perfect everything. Hallelujah. And if you’re going to get the highest, you’ll have to link up with Him where He now is. And if you link up with Him where He now is, there’s no way to link up with Him, unless you’re willing to receive that power and that glory, that promised gift that He went into the heavenly world both to receive and to give. Hallelujah.
And that’s just getting you ready to go to places. It’s not graduation. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And if you have existed in the days of Jesus, you could have gotten a wonderful education prior to Pentecost. Because this other thing couldn’t be given. But as we live now after this period, what’s the use of the Lord taking George? Hallelujah. And going through all that discipline that they went through with. Hallelujah. So He can perfect them much faster. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Baptize them with the Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. Where now He is. The back and all. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He’ll baptize the plain sisters. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And He baptized the good-looking ones too. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He baptized you with painted faces until you can… He can give you such health and joy. You look better without the paint than with it. Hallelujah. Have Thy way, Lord. Have Thy way. And He don’t seem to be so particular about it either. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. A man came to make him once and took an hour and a half. Hallelujah. Blessing out the girls because they didn’t have long hair. I said, they’re growing me just as fast as they can. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And I was on the mistaken idea for a time that since God will not dwell in an unclean vessel, that you had to get clean before you got in, you didn’t need God much. Hallelujah.
But the truth of it is, you’ve got to go in a house before you can clean it up. Hallelujah. You don’t clean it from the outside, you clean it from the inside. And of course, you’re good housekeepers. You can have a clean house. But if you buy one, hallelujah, you’re not so nice, hallelujah, you refuse to go in it until it’s cleaned up, you go in and clean it up. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And so there’s a great moral education to be perfected after the baptism. Everybody has to become an overcomer after the baptism if they’re going to go to the heights. Hallelujah. Everybody’s got to get in Him and stay in Him and stop going out. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Well, there’s just, there’s more beyond. Hallelujah is on the other side of it. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. You’re hardly kindergartners. Hallelujah. If you turn up your nose. Hallelujah. Say you’ve got the whole thing. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. But you ain’t got scarcely anything. Hallelujah. Ain’t got enough to be hungry for more. Hallelujah. And a person isn’t. In an awful place. Hasn’t got enough to be hungry. Anybody who hasn’t had enough honey to be hungry for more honey. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He’s no honey, I tell you. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And somewhere on the way, we’ve got to overcome all of these lower tendencies and link up ourselves with the highest will and purpose of God. Hallelujah. And the overcomer gets in and stays in and stops going out anymore. The overcomer gets back to the tree of life, overcomes death. Hallelujah. The overcomer goes to the throne of Jesus Christ just as He overcame and went to the throne of His Father. The overcomer inherits everything.
Hallelujah. And then, put it very briefly. Hallelujah. I think I’ve been given the simplest thing on what heavenly rejuvenation is. And, hallelujah. And what the heavenly marriage is the only thing I’ve ever heard. Hallelujah. I just said to the Lord one day, what is the secret of this rejuvenation? Of course, keeping yourself alert and learning new things will help you a little. Hallelujah. I guess a good manner of will might help you some. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. To think youth instead of thinking old age. That will help you a little. Hallelujah. But he won’t do the full job. Hallelujah. So I asked the Lord, what is the secret of rejuvenation? And comes right back, like heavenly life, to be married to me. Well, I didn’t know what that was. You don’t know what anything is? Ask. And ask the person to know. Don’t be asking somebody as innocent as you are. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And He came right back, to be wholly each other’s. W-H-O-L-L-Y. And that’s self-evident. That’ll bring in everything. That’s what Jesus longed for. That He may be wholly ours, and He may win us to be wholly His. And He furnishes the immortality, and we furnish the mortality. We furnish the old age and old business, and He furnishes the… Lord, He furnishes the immortality as well as perfect everything else. And that Jesus will marry us. Hallelujah. And pool His interest with ours. Take all of our negatives and give us His positives. You can hardly take that in. It’s too good, looks like, to be true. It’s too good not to be true. And it is true. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
And that I don’t have to remain old and ugly. Well, that’s a great consolation. Great thing to escape hell. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. To escape the negatives. But it’s a great thing to get the positives. And then, these bodies have got to be brought into it. And if we haven’t made it by rapture. Thank God, as we said in the early part of this talk, this provision made the method by resurrection. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And I wish you as half as keen to become Christ-like as the blessed ones on the other side are keen for the resurrection. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. That’s where they come in. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I don’t think many people believe it, but most of them say they believe in the resurrection of the body. You wouldn’t have any full salvation without the body. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And you’ll never be satisfied until you have the body of Jesus Christ. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And then after you get that, then you’re a regular manifest son of God. And the creation is just waiting for the sons to be manifested. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And you kind of people here that love the creation. Hallelujah. The creation, my, how quick it’ll get religion when the folks get it. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. How the lions will go to behaving themselves when we’ve got enough Daniels in the world. Hallelujah.
What a good purpose the power will serve when we’ve got enough sufficient of seed to reach act in the bed he goes in the world. Hallelujah. For there’ll be a people that will not only have dominion over everything, but be a people that will bring to release and the potentiality of the whole universe. And we’ll be partners with Jesus as sons of God with Him when we come to full sonship in this high achievement of the universe. Hallelujah. And there’ll be a new heaven and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness and peace and wonder. And Jesus Christ is the new man through whom the new heavens, the new earth, and the new everything you brought forth.
Thank You, Lord. Thank You. I beg your pardon? Listen to your prayer. Yes. Precious Lord, we’re overwhelmed with Your goodness. We are, we’re brought to silence. That’s Your feet. Hallelujah, Hallelujah. Such amazing grace, such amazing goodness. Hallelujah, Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Take us, Hallelujah, and mold us fast as can be in Your own likeness. Melt us down in Your pity and compassion and love. Make us all love and nothing but love. Hallelujah. Take all the elements of evil out of us. Hallelujah. We want to be ever with whole too, Jesus. We want to scatter health and wholeness. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. We want everything You have for us, Lord. And we want to be partners with You in bringing Your perfect everything to everybody and everything. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. We pray for the rapid increase of Thy government in peace. Hallelujah. And be unto all men wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, and thank You.
