Glenn Clark applies Elisha and the borrowed axe head to the churches: too much of our religion goes into shaping the handle, when the cutting head is prayer and has to be borrowed from God. A bishop who was once his student is a wonderful orator who never had to borrow anything. His own son-in-law stuttered so badly he could not be heard until he threw himself on the Holy Spirit, and is now in demand at camps around the country. Clark wants a scholarship fund raised so that any divinity student in America can come and get what a seminary leaves out, since “the one thing they do not teach is prayer.”
