Ruth Robison tells campers that Jesus was heard because he spoke with authority, and that the same authority rests on anyone certain God wills wholeness: pray “I know,” never “I think.” She backs it with three things: the question at the pool of Bethesda, “Do you want to become well?”; a girl who woke healed and had her friends teach her the English words “me well”; and a home prayer group she nursed like a sick patient. Her measure of the camps is that people leave them whole.
