Norman Grubb tells campers at the 1971 Ohio CFO that a Christian has to collapse twice, once as a guilty sinner and once as a helpless saint who finds he will never improve. Since the self is only a vessel and never becomes what it contains, he tells them to cut “ought to” out of their vocabulary and let Christ love through the reactions they already have.
